Imagine my delight when, after a seriously intense Pinterest session (and some next level wardrobe goals) I sat down to write a bit of content and discovered that the brand new RP pattern was my latest board come to life. For real, have a look: Shirt Dresses
I want to say “how often does that happen?”, but in all honesty, with RP patterns, the answer is pretty regularly. Each new pattern is like my dream wardrobe has been raided and brought to life, and then made accessible to me because I can SEW MY OWN CLOTHES! Or get my mama bear to do it ? (I’m still mastering the art of sewing).Sofia is no different in its supreme excellence to all the other RP patterns that have come before it, and all the others still to come. There is a level of sheer brilliance to the patterns and tutorials that Rebeca creates, that simply elevate them to a level of wow that is difficult to match*.
With all her options, the looks you can create with Sofia are right up there in the infinite range. No sleeves, long sleeves, and three quarter sleeves plus knee, midi, and maxi lengths are just the standards. A bit of shortening on the length, some sleeve hacking for a short sleeve or even a tulip sleeve and you’ve gone and created a whole different look! Choose gorgeous, flowy wovens for a boho vibe, or stiffer (also gorgeous) fabrics like linen for a more structured look. Seriously – the options are endless.
And the best thing about a dress? It’s one item and you’re dressed. And this shirt dress can take you from casual to smart in a matter of styling and accessories.
*Disclaimer – the opinions expressed in this post are entirely my own. I have not been paid/ bribed with cake/ sent a massive parcel of fabric and sewing goodies; there is simply nothing but love for Rebecca Page patterns from this blogger!
