Jill, the newest off the shoulder jumpsuit sewing pattern in the RP stable is a simple beaut! Jill offers clean, comfy lines, easy sewing, and even easier dressing. BUT Jill has a sneaky little fun card up a flounced sleeve… the ruffle/ frill/ draped detailing/ whatever you want to call the bit around the shoulders. It gives this jumpsuit a whole lot extra!
Jill is a sweet and summery off the shoulder jumpsuit sewing pattern. It comes in sizes newborn to 12 years and XXS to 5XL.
With three length options, optional shoulder ties, and optional pockets to choose from, you can make you and your kidlet comfy outfits to keep you cool and looking fab!
Even though it is the Jill’s signature look, consider leaving off the flounce for a simple, sleeveless, and strappy square-necked jumpsuit that can be worn over a plain white (Toronto) tee! It may require some hacking and a little strap adjusting and elastic-leaving-out, but it will be cute! Or leave off the shoulder ties for a bare-shouldered look that belongs on a sun-kissed beach holiday… ?
The best fabrics to make your Jill are light-to medium-weight knits that have a minimum stretch of 40% and good recovery. So your jumpsuit always looks good! The best fabrics to try are jersey, silk satin with elastine, silk jersey with elastine, Liverpool, double brushed polyester, and modal.
I think a floral DBP Jill, with all the trimmings, will be making it’s way onto my sewing to do list. BUT I might just elasticate the ankles for a bit of a “hack”.
As ever, the RP ambassadors have created some beauties! Have a look: JILL JUMPSUIT GALLERY
