This was such a fun activity for me and my preschooler. She had a lot of fun choosing the colors of the felt for the hair and clothes. She can’t wait to play with it. As a sewing project, it was pretty simple. I used small-sized scraps of interfacing from other projects so it was a perfect way to use up those small pieces. The felt is more forgiving than other fabrics in my opinion so creating the finer detail of the clothing times is easier than one might think. I will definitely will make more for my daughter’s friends.
Tina Marie Baber –
I found the Felt Dolls to be a Fairly easy pattern to follow, the directions were clear, patterns were marked and easy to read. I had a slight issue with my felt (user error) which was easily corrected. My grandchildren and I love the variety of hairstyles and clothes that were included in the pattern. We have plans to continue making more dolls and clothes as soon as the new patterned felt arrives. This play set can be used for girls and boys add a sword or a pirate hat, a coat of armor maybe even a prince and princess. This pattern is a keeper and will supply many hours of fun and imaginative play for children and their adult counterparts such as grandma, grandpa, dad, mom even brothers & sisters. The more the merrier. Fun Awaits a Creative Mind.
Tiina Norrkniivilä –
“A fun pattern that makes you want to do more and more. Pay attention to the felt you buy, as the thickness will affect how much interfacing you need, the overall stiffness and what kind of needle you’ll be next needing. Please take into consideration that most of the pieces are not suitable for very small children as they are so small.
The tutorial is your friend, even if it feels quite long at first glance. But the specific patterns are explained very short and with links within the tutorial on how to make the specific stitches required. Therefore it’s a good pattern for a beginner who wants to start maybe making one or two pieces and then continue if feeling like it. “

A fun sew. I had a few problems getting the custard tart finished around the top and the whipped cream. Didn’t find the instructions all that helpful for these pieces. End product looks good and will definitely make them again

Once again Rebecca Page knocks it out of the park with this fun, fun pattern for imagination play. This is my first true attempt at hand sewing, and the tutorial that comes with the pattern is perfect for learning the various stitches. Finishing the tartlet and fruit was a relaxing distraction after a full day of work, and my daughter was eyeing them the entire time!
Ng Puay Choo –
This is an easy sew though there are many patterns to cut out and handsew. They are adorable and perfect as kid’s kitchen toys!
Ana Miguel –
I liked it. Take a lot of time because it’s hand sew but it’s great to relax 🙂
Betsy Koestler –
I loved sewing this up and learning different hand embroidery stitches. A very relaxing break from the sewing machine. This pattern invites creativity!
Kirsten Welch –
This was such a fun sew! I loved the variety of food options! You can make as much or as few as you want and you can change them up to make unique pieces! This is perfect for toddlers or even young children to play with. I see a lot more of these in my future for fun gift ideas!
Casey-Marie Bray –
Let your creativity flow with this fun pattern. It’s a perfect gift idea and can be made over and over with different variation. Use the base pattern as your guide and embellish and mix it up to your heart’s content! This pattern went together easily, allowing me to focus my time on the little details.
Theresa Crandall –
This sweet book quite easy to sew. The most difficult part is deciding what fabric to use. The instructions are clear and the pictures are helpful for a quick visual guide. I’m already making a second one!
Karla Holmes –
“We love this! This is very different from what I’m used to make and I enjoyed it since I love to challenge myself. I used washable glue to place the little pieces and it made the construction so much easier. There is a lot of pieces involved so make sure little ones is not around when you cut the pieces( I just had to print the flowers, moon and fishes at least 3 times). But overall it’s not as hard it just takes time to make but definitely worth all the effort when you see them enjoying what you made.
My boys enjoys the book everytime I take it out for them to play. Poor little Bubu Bear is already dirty from all the smooches he get from my little 15 month old. I will surely recommend this to anybody who wants to make something for their kids or as presents. “
Haley Bolton –
I sew daily for my children, and this quiet book has been what they appreciate most! They play with it constantly. I love it because it fosters imagination and can be used as a teaching took on so many levels. With this book, I can teach my children (ages 2 & 3) about shapes, colors, textures, directions, lines (parallel, horizontal, diagonal, etc). The book provides tons of fine motor movement activities as well as ample role playing fun! My kids LOVE to answer the phone and put their teddies to bed. In terms of sewing, I had fun making this book because I didn’t have to worry about perfect fit, exactly straight stitching, coordinating fabrics….the more whimsical the better! I let my daughter choose most of the fabrics herself. I can see a full on princess dress, but what has my family been most impressed with? This quiet book!!
Leah Jordan –
I LOVED this pattern! It was time consuming because I became obsessed and was overthinking which fabrics to use for each piece, but it was worth every millisecond I spend on it when I gave it to my little 2 year old daughter who was so excited. Her joy was precious. I’ve never seen her so excited about anything I’ve made–And I’ve made a lot of princess dresses and other clothes! 😉
Bonnie Hillman Riley –
The Quiet Book was a complete labor of love. It’s a wonderful pattern as written, and there are so many opportunities to customize it to make it your own special book. I piled all my fabric scraps in a heap, actually several heaps, on the floor and loved remembering all the things I’d sewn for my grandchildren with those fabrics. The directions in the pattern are terrific, and the designs are so creative. I really, really enjoyed making the Quiet Book.
Kyrsten Sanders –
This pattern was very easy to follow. I love all of the options for the pages. It takes a little bit of time to get it done, but it is well worth the work.
Cristy Barnes –
Set aside lots of time to make the most of this fantastic pattern. The more you embellish, the greater the final product becomes! With so many options to be creative with no two Dolls House Quiet Books will be the same so its a perfect handmade gift for all the little people in your life.
Lucy Lloyd –
Such a delightful sewing project! I love making something unique and this pattern allows you to do just that and you can let your creativity roam free with adding extra rooms- any of the included 5 – or make up your own rooms! My little girl loves the kitty doll included in the pattern and loves ‘chatting’ on the phone – I included a bit of velcro to the back of the phone headset to keep it in place in the book! Such a clever design which will delight all children and makes a perfect present for boys and girls alike!
Aaronica Cole –
This was one of my first times sewing something that wasn’t a piece of clothing. I loved the options that came with the pattern because they catered to so many! I will say that it was a bit challenging to choose the fabric because I’m such a fabric lover but my kids love the finished product and I’m happy that I was able to step out of the clothing box with such a beautiful pattern! Per norm, the Rebecca Page crew knocked it out the park!
Lee-Anne De Quintal –
Although a lot of time is needed to cut out the pieces, it’s definitely worth the final product. With many choices, or do them all, littles ones will love their personalised handmade little dolls book house! Lots of possibilities
Cortney Pesek –
This is a wonderfully original pattern. While it does take more time than you would think to complete it is only because of the level of creativity in use. Each page is fully customizable to your taste and style. All of the page options are so cute it is almost impossible to limit yourself to the 4 page house and very easy to make an additional 4 page insert to use all the pattern pieces. You will be amazed at what your mind comes up with when you mix and match items. This is such a fun pattern!
Heather Luben –
THis was a super fun make, and a great hit with my boys! Using the negative space for the roads makes this much easier to construct than I had expected. Adding all the quiet book blocks is a lot of fun. I opted to use fabric paint on some of the smaller items instead of cutting them out, and stitched a lot of the moveable things down.
Donna Jones –
This is a project of many parts! To a beginner it, at first, appears overwhelming but it is broken down brilliantly. I think a few more congratulations messages need to go through the instructions haha! I set myself goals, such as “cut materials for blocks 1-6”, “complete blocks 1-6”, “sew backing on all blocks and turn” and “stitch all egdes and blocks to road” as a way to see the project as smaller goals. I found the project less overwhelming this way. I have to say I absolutely love the finished product! It is easy to roll and store, super playable and great for young imaginations!
Katie Weatherly –
definately a time consuming project. I challenged myself to use up materials on hand and I am very happy with the end result.
Laura Walker –
This mat has everything! A car wash, a farm, a castle, a pond and even an exploding volcano!!!! With so many features, kids will have hours of fun! A fantastic design which can easily be customised to suit your needs.
Nicole Lueke –
This is car mat is sure to be a hit with any one who loves imaginative play. The details are well thought out and sure to keep little ones busy for hours. The ability to add your own creative elements is a wonderful feature.
Jamie Adler –
I loved making the Car Mat! Creativity abounds with the options available! it will be a wonderful Christmas gift for my young nephew.
Julie McKinley –
Following this pattern exactly produces a great masterpiece of a toy! And what a palate it provides for creativity and personalization!! Plan plenty of time… But it’s so worth it!
Nadine Humblet –
That’s a great make! It isn’t easy but it’s very effective. My son love it and I’m proud to be able to sew it.
Jennifer Schonhaar –
This was such a fun sew if I’d had time. I plan on making it again when I can take my time and enjoy the process. Overall the instructions were clear. The only thing I didn’t do was adding the white dashed lines on the road. My road fabric looked a bit like cobblestone, and I thought the markings would detract from that. I’m a quilter so I think that probably helped me with some of the process. 🙂
Pamela Stump –
This impressive fold-up play mat can be made in a quick, undecorated version, in a fully interactive decorated version, or somewhere in-between, in as much detail as you desire. Toy vehicles can park in the underground parking for transport – the mat folds and rolls up to make it easy to carry wherever you go. Prepare to spend a week or two on this if you really go high on the decorations – that can be a lot of pieces to topstitch down! I personalized the one I made with a school, a church, and expanding the lake to be a river covering two blocks. All the work is worth it when you see how much the children love to play with it!
