This ladies twist top and dress sewing pattern bundle is lovely set designed to be worn together or as simple separates that each have their own bit of magic to add to any outfit.
The twist top finishes just under the bust and is the ideal finishing touch to wear over any semi-fitted to tight base layer. It’s the perfect way to add a pop of colour, some extra coverage, and some unique detailing to your wardrobe.
The dress and tunic sewing pattern is the best base to start layering any outfit! The loose-fitting spaghetti-strap, A-line garment has some subtle gathers for lovely, flattering shaping and comfort.
Skill Level – Beginner
Sizes – Pattern includes ladies’ sizes XXS to 5XL. See the size chart in the gallery above.
Options – Three sleeve lengths – short, three-quarter, and long. Two lengths – tunic and knee-length dress
Ideas – Summer PJS! Makes a magnificent nightie in the longer length dress, or sleep top to pair with shorts in the tunic length. Use a deliciously warm and chunky knit to make a warm crop jersey to throw on as the weather cools.
Fabrics – Your fabric needs to be a stretch-knit fabric; you can use any weight but best results and fit will be achieved with a light to medium weight fabric. Most importantly, a fabric with 4-way stretch (stretches in all directions) will give you more drape than a 2-way stretch (only stretches in one direction). Therefore, some great examples are jersey, rayon, viscose, bamboo, ITY jersey, silk satin with elastine/lycra, and silk jersey with elastine/lycra. Do not use a woven fabric.
See the fabric requirements in the gallery above for yardage. A serger/ overlocker is optional but NOT required.
Format – This trim-free pattern is a downloadable PDF and comes in A4 or US letter printable sizes. An A0 format (pattern pieces only) is also included should you wish to have your pattern printed professionally. PDF Layers allow you to select and print only the size/s you want.
