If you like fun details that add elegance t your outfit, this is a great sew! It walks you through an off-set placket, welt pockets on the hip, and a split hem. Play with color for a bold look, or keep it all the same for more subtle details.
Kelle Lujan –
A great sweater with some unique features! We love the neck placket and optional welt pockets to add a little character to this comfy sweater. Without the pockets, it’s a fairly quick sew for such an original piece.
Tiina Norrkniivilä –
A nice pattern with a beautiful neck placket and puffy sleeves! The pockets and especially the placket together with the buttons require time and some sewing experience, or at least a skill of interpreting tutorials, but it’s definitely worth it! I think this pattern may just have hit my to five for women!
Sue Parrott –
This is a fun and stylish sew! The placket and optional welt pockets elevate this from a simple sweater to a sophisticated top! Dress it up or down, all depending on your fabric choice!
Rebekah Homer –
If you’re looking for a comfy oversized sweater with fun details this is definitely one to pick up. The button detail, the wide relaxed stand up collar, and drop shoulder really provide a nice visual interest. The basic sweater is easy to put together- though the placket and collar will take some extra time to work through. I really loved the deep hem and the finished edges of the side split and collar/placket were amazing. If you like the silhouette, but don’t want it as oversized, you can size down one or two sizes. I know because my mum (who’s about 2 sizes larger than me) stole my first one! It looked great on her, so I can’t complain 🙂
Debbie Prince –
This is the comfyiest sweater ever. Ive litterally not taken it off and im ready to cut out another. Loved making this and will be making more 🙂
Deb Sendelbach –
I love the placket pockets on this sweater. And the instructions for the pockets are so easy to follow. The bishop sleeves are an added design element that makes this top so unique. There are many more Sara Sweaters in my future.
Gabriella Hägglund –
Sarah sweater is a slightly more dressed up and neat sweatshirt pattern. I really like being able to wear a cozy sweatshirt that still feels classically stylish. it is also nice sewing, some new techniques – plaquett – maybe but good instructions make it possible to succeed

Each step explained fully how to construct the garment. I love all the details and will be wearing my sweater often.”

This is a challenging sew and requires lots of patience. At the end, I am rewarded with an amazing sweater so full of character! I love how comfy it feels and it has pockets!!
Size XS. Took of 2 inches at the hem for my 5’4″” height.

Lisa Corriveau –
The Sarah sweater is a nice roomy top, perfect for getting cozy in the winter. It’s fairly simple to sew, but the welt pockets & neck placket are a bit of a challenge.
Nicole Lueke –
The fit of this sweater makes it incredibly comfortable. Depending on your fabric choice it makes a great office casual piece or something great for around home.

This just might be my favorite long-sleeve RP pattern! With a relaxed fit, it is super-comfy to wear. Plus it has such a unique silhouette: an off-center button placket and blouson sleeves gathered into cuffs. (And the sleeve band is just the right size to push up higher on your arms, allowing your hands to work without your sleeves getting in the way, in case you were wondering). I got so many compliments when I wore mine today. The instructions are very straightforward. Just go step-by-step, and you’ll be just fine 🙂
Francisca Beitler –
This loose fit sweater looked big when I startet sewing, but finished it has a nice, comfy fit. The details with the placket and the pocket makes it an unique sweater.
Catherine Murdock –
Very comfortable wear!

My version of the Sara Sweater is a little different than the pattern as it is designed. I went with a size smaller than I usually make in Rebecca Page patterns, to reduce the “oversized” look, and added length for my height. I also hacked the collar. Instead of a stand-up collar and angled placket, I made a simple offset collar based on one that I saw someone else had done. With these changes, the pattern truly was a beginner pattern because the most difficult element, the placket, was eliminated.
My Sara Sweater was made from a lusciously soft modal knit, with unique elongated oval wooden “hand wash only” buttons. I “painted” the buttons with clear nail polish before using so they would better withstand the wash water.

The (optional) Welt pockets, and the placket are what differentiates this sweater from other sweaters, and I love it!
Ann Ruysschaert –
fun make, as usual bit of trouble with the plaquet and first time welt pockets, the sleeves were way to long but I just love it
Carmen Brent –
This sweater has all the interesting details to set it apart from your everyday sweater. It is incredibly comfortable and easy to wear, but the buttons, placket, and side split hem add a touch of class that elevates your entire look.
Leesa Burr-Bates –
