Full Bust Adjustment Tutorial:

This free Princess Seam Full Bust Adjustment Tutorial will guide you through an FBA. Specifically for patterns with a side front and center front pattern piece, which are joined by a princess seam. The RP ladies’ XXS to 5XL sewing patterns are designed to fit a sewing C cup bust. This is a B cup in most ready to wear bras.

After measuring your bust accurately and determining the best size to whip up, you will know if you fit into this bust size range. You may need to adjust your patterns for the best fit at the bust, armholes, and across the back.

If you need a Full Bust Adjustment (FBA) on one of our bodice patterns with a princess seam such as the Patsy Party Dress, Riley Vest or Amsterdam Coat, follow this free tutorial to adjust your pattern pieces.

Perfect Fit:

For a perfect fit, always make up a muslin first. Make the necessary adjustments to which ever pattern piece needs them. Try it on, check the fit is good for you. Then only cut into the fabric you want to use for your final garment once you know you’re fully happy with your muslin.
