This is a super easy skirt to sew which I find very flattering to wear. Definitely a must-have in any wardrobes.
Frieda Flavianu –
Such a great pleated skirt. I love the fact that it’s pleated and yet fitted around the hips, The way it hugs my hips and then flare. I will be making more of these.
Chiara Kruse –
A quick skirt that will showcase your lovely fabrics and gorgeous boarder prints. Can be made out of most wovens including quilting cotton and some knits. Instructions for box pleats and invisible zipper installation for beginners looking to learn a new skill.
Lisa Giorcelli –
This is such a cute skirt! I made the knee length with the longest pleats for a cute, figure hugging design. It takes a little more time to make all the pleats but the directions are simple and easy to follow making it a breeze to sew.
Jemma Tredinnick –
I found this pattern makes a delightful slightly swishy skirt with the lightweight fabric I used and the mid length pleat on the knee length skirt.
I sewed a S size (I am right on the upper boundary) and it fitted perfectly with no adjustments needed except for the length as I am only 5ft3.
I followed the instructions slowly and carefully for the pleats as this is not how I usually do them. They produced very nice crisp pleats with not a lot of bother. I think it would be a good idea to emphasize how important pressing is to keep them neat – I did multiple pressings.
The waistband and zip were easier than I thought they would be but I found the area where they meet was hard to keep tidy because of the narrowness of the band and the number of layers here, but I’m happy with how it turned out. I also pinned on the right side for the stitch in the ditch technique.
I really like the final skirt and will be wearing it for work a lot. I also want to sew many more – especially in a heavier fabric to give a more structured skirt

Although the pleats are a little tricky the completed look is fab and worth the effort.
Tiffany Amos –
I am in love with this pattern . Definitely take your time with pleats once you see and catch on to where and how that should lay the rest is history and you will definitely want to repeat this pattern over and over . I love it !
Amy Kaczenski –
Tedious, time consuming, but worth the results. I like the different options for length of pleats because it changes the look and shape dramatically!
Nat Laskey –
Pattern is reasonably well written, bar the side seam pleats which confounded me. Makes for a cute skirt, but I feel that how far you stitch the pleats down defeats the purpose of calling it a pleated skirt, but rather turns it into one with lots of seam lines?
Candice Robb –
I really liked the way this skirt turned out. It gets a little tricky when trying to adjust the pattern to fit at the waist, but overall I like it.
Sandy Simpson –
I love a pleated skirt and this one did not disappoint. I love the fact that you can choose how deep you make your pleat lines and in doing so you can change the shape of the skirt entirely. The longest part of this skirt was the marking of the pleats – accuracy is essential. I did find the fit of this skirt runs large and had to take quite a bit in – including the waistband even though I measured just into the Large around the waist.
Jamie Adler –
I love this skirt. Amazing details and beautiful outcome. No intimidation in making the box pleats as the instructions guide you step-by-step. Thanks for another great skirt pattern. Can’t wait to sew the shorter option!
Frances Lancaster –
The box pleat skirt is a fast, fun sew with lots of options for creating different looks. The instructions provide all the details needed for making the pleats and putting in the invisible zipper!
Katherine Harris –
This skirt is such a quick and simple skirt to make. I love the side zipper and how the pleats come into a half pleat on either side to keep with the pleat pattern of the skirt.
Rebecca Oburotha –
Such pretty pleats. A meter/yard of fabric was enough as I made mine knee length.
