I really liked the fit and feel of this pattern. The skirt was full and comfortable. Directions were clear and the only thing I would do different next time is make the pockets a little larger to be able to fit my hand inside. Thank you for another beautiful pattern!
daphne.geeraerd (verified owner) –
I really love this pattern!! The instructions are clear. This pattern is very suitable for beginners. I made 2 skirts, both with sash and without pockets. I chose to make the knee length version of the skirt. I’ll be making more of these skirts in the future, next on my list is a maxi skirt!
Leanne Miller (verified owner) –
A simple but stylish skirt. Instructions were easy to follow and fabric suggestions were appropriate. Options for a regular or tall waistband and an added sash and pockets enable some variations on this simple skirt, this in my opinion makes this very versatile for a simple casual skirt or a more elegant skirt for more formal wear. The suggested fabrics included describe the drape appropriately. A lovely swishy skirt in rayon as l made makes the wearer feel quite elegant. Love it and l am generally not a maxi wearer but the drape and feel is very feminine.
Rachel Bowles (verified owner) –
This is a great pattern and per the usual for Rebecca Page, the instructions are phenomenal and include great tips. I made a maxi skirt with a sash and can’t wait to wear it. It’s spot on with the trends I’ve been watching.
Lisa Bond (verified owner) –
I found the step by step instructions really easy to follow. I’m normally a picture only girl, but found I could easily follow the written instructions. The pattern is a joy to make and I will definately be returning to this pattern on many occasions. I made my Arabella skirt in a floral scuba fabric, probably the heaviest fabric you would want to go to, but I am really pleased with the result:) I’m only 5ft so found the above the knee actually fitted just below my knee, but as the pattern states it’s based on a 5ft 6″ frame. I would recommend this pattern, and if you are dithering about purchasing it, I would go for it, you will not regret it!!
Kristin Rohde (verified owner) –
The Arabella skirt is beautiful and comfortable to wear. The instructions are very clear with step by step pictures. I made the maxi length skirt with regular waistband and added pockets. I did not do the sash. I needed to shorten my dress because it is drafted for someone taller than I am. I love the attention to detail included with this pattern! I see many more Arabella skirts in my future wardrobe!
Keeley Passwaters (verified owner) –
This is such an amazing pattern! The shape is simple and classic which makes it a really versatile skirt. It was super easy to follow and having all of the edges fully enclosed makes for a very professional finish!
An Staute (verified owner) –
I can’t express how much I love this skirt! The sash, the pockets, the fullness, I love it all! It’s a rather easy quick sew, so instant gratification ftw! 🙂
Laura Quach (verified owner) –
Great pattern, really easy to make and prefect for beginners
Justine Stroeh (verified owner) –
I love my skirt, I originally started it as a maxi but changed it to a knee length as I found it an awkward length. I’ll be making more, with some rayon for a soft floaty effect

Nici Ivey (verified owner) –
Fantastic versatile skirt pattern! The options really are endless for this skirt. I had intended to make myself a skirt, but as soon as my daughter saw it she asked for one. I let her pick fabrics and options. She went with the knee length, regular waistband, and no sash. It went together like a dream, even with all the gathering! She has already asked for several more for her to wear to school!
Chris Shapiro (verified owner) –
The Arabella maxi skirt with it’s flowy style and flat front/elastic back waistband is flattering and comfortable. Made from wovens ( I used rayon ) It is feminine at its best! The tutorial for this pattern is easy to understand offers easy to follow diagrams as well. This will be a go to skirt for me!
Jennifer Anne Reeves (verified owner) –
This is a great pattern. A gorgeous skirt and a decently easy sew. It’s a great way to learn to do French Seams. Great pattern!
Jennifer Lichak (verified owner) –
The Arabella maxi is such a fantastic beginner pattern. Plus, with typical Rebecca Page details the seams are hidden which gives it such a polished finish. I made mine to be more formal and it sits at the best spot on my waist and flares in a flattering way. I love the flat front waist bad too. All in all, this will be a skirt I make again.
Carina Seth (verified owner) –

I have had my heart set on a floor length seersucker maxi skirt for ages (since before I could sew) and the Arabella was the perfect fabric for this! The elastic waist makes this easy to fit, even for beginners. It does take a lot of fabric, but that’s to be expected for a full maxi skirt. The gathering might be the hardest part of this skirt, but the instructions were very clear, as were the illustrations. There will be many more of these skirts in my future!
Carina Seth (verified owner) –

Sometimes you really want a tailored flat front to your skirts or a pretty sash for a dramatic bow and this skirt takes the basic gathered skirt up a notch by adding those features. Beautiful results in less than an evening.

This pattern is very simple to complete and the finished product looks beautifully professional. I love the bundle options to complete matching or similar outfits for myself, my daughter, and her favourite dolly friend!
Jen Kolar (verified owner) –
This is a great pattern with lots of flexibility. I love that it can be dressed up or down depending on your fabric choice. The sash adds an extra special twist. The pocket detail is wonderful and the finished garment is so easy to wear. I ranked it as intermediate based on some top stitching and fussing with the sash/waistband.
Sarah Miller (verified owner) –
This skirt is a quick and easy sew! It is so fun and comfortable! I loved the different length choices which make it very versatile. It also has pockets, which I love in a skirt pattern!

Ann-Marie Abrahams (verified owner) –
Absolutely loved this pattern, I made one for me and one for my daughter in an afternoon while at work! Super quick and easy but with beautiful finishing techniques that really stand out. Love the ease and fit of the elastic back but the smooth look of the flat front.

I love this skirt pattern!! It is very easy to sew and I love that it has the French seams!!! I will definitely be making more. Only thing I think would be better is to uses less width because it seems to be a little more poofy around the waist than I would like. But otherwise great pattern!!!!

I just loved the style of this skirt with the elastic waistband in the back and the skirt fullness. Though I do prefer to have pattern pieces instead of measuring as I would want to make more than one of these and it would be easier for me to lay out the pattern pieces and cut. But overall an easy and quick sew!

Great pattern, easy to sew, also handy that you don’t have to print the whole thing , measurements are provided for the skirt as an alternative
Frieda Flavianu (verified owner) –
A classic, versatile and beautiful pattern. What I expected is what I got. It all depends on the type of fabric used. My first maxi skirt I ever made and I will be making more.
Casey Bray (verified owner) –
Perfect easy wear skirt. The elastic back is allowing me to wear mine through my pregnancy comfortably and the pockets are an absolute requirement as a toddler mum.
Tiffany J Allen (verified owner) –
I very much enjoyed making this skirt. It reminded me of all the gathered skirts I made in the past, it had a vintage classic feel to it. I’ll definitely be making more.
Sydney Norwood (verified owner) –
This is a fantastic pattern! I’m a huge fan of high-waisted skirts so this was perfect. I used bubble crepe fabric for the first time, which was a little fussy to work with, but made a very lovely, flowy, skirt. My only regret is that the flowiness of the fabric I used didn’t let the bow be as crisp as I wanted it, but that just means I’ll have to make more skirts!! One of my favorite makes so far!
Raven Pratt (verified owner) –
I’m wearing a full skirt made with the Arabella skirt from Rebecca Page Patterns. This was an easy make that took no time! I used 3 yards of fabric from Hobby Lobby. It’s 45 inch fabric so I actually had to use it against the grainline in order for my pattern pieces to fit on the fabric. The skirt is full and not fitted at all so this did not impact the fit.
Karen Greenhalgh (verified owner) –
Wow I love this skirt!! (I made the maxi length) It’s perfect for Summer in a light drapey fabric and with the back elasticated waist it’s sooooo comfy. The posy pleated pants pattern is my favourite trouser pattern and now I have a skirt version. I’ll be making loads of these!
Elmarie van Deventer (verified owner) –
This was such a straightforward skirt to make. The instructions are super clear and easy to follow and the RP team gives great advice for doing the gathers. With various lengths, optional sash and pockets, and the choice of 2 waistband, you have make so many of these skirts and have them look completely different each time! I love versatile patterns and this one is great!
Chaney Baxley Mobley (verified owner) –
The Arabella is a beautiful pattern with easy to follow instructions, professional finishes and looks fantastic when done. And the best part, POCKETS!
Ana Inês Barros (verified owner) –
I wanted to do this skirt since it’s release. I don’t know what kept me so long. But I know I choose a magic time to do this magic gorgeous skirt. Love it.
Kelle Lujan (verified owner) –
This is a beautiful, simple sew for even a beginner. We tried out the ladies’ XXS small for my tween and it worked great once we made some adjustments for height (which was simple with finished measurements and cut lines marked right on the pattern pieces). We love the pockets for practicality. We used a lightweight gauze for a comfy summer skirt, but can see this being made in a variety of materials for every season. Can’t wait to get some more use out of this versatile pattern.
Ellin Selkirk (verified owner) –
I love this skirt!! The pattern is so simple and instructions are super easy to follow, best of all the cut chart means you dont have to print a heap of pages. Great to wear all year round
Kamilla Székely (verified owner) –
Love the look of The Arabella! It’s pretty and easy at the same time.
Lauren R. (verified owner) –
A super fun and easy sew, with beautiful results! This was flattering even to my mummy tummy,.
Tiffany Amos (verified owner) –
This fully gathered skirt is an excellent choice for a beginner sew . Many struggle with the correct amount of yardage to use when you want a skirt this full without a petticoat . This is definitely the skirt that gives it all . It’s also a plus that the back is elastic . I am in love with it , and received so many compliments .
Katie Panoff (verified owner) –
Easy to read pattern and a very simple sew. I had a little bit of trouble when it came to gathering and finding my threads to pull, so I highly recommend following the suggestion to use a different color thread for the bobbin or even a contrasting thread in general since it’s removed afterward. I love the fit and fullness of the skirt and the ability to add pockets makes a winner in my book!
Jennifer Means (verified owner) –
This pattern was one of the easiest sews I’ve done. The instructions are so clear and it took me less than hour to sew. This skirt is very full but not a circle skirt so I don’t have to worry about it flying up in the wind. It will be comfy and cool for the summer. I can’t wait to make more!
Debbie Prince (verified owner) –
This is a super simple skirt to make and could make in super quick time. Instructions were very clear. was my first time putting pockets in a skirt and with french seams it was very easy.
Annika Ashfield (verified owner) –
This skirt came together in a couple evenings and I am pretty new to sewing clothes and following patterns. The tips for each step were very helpful, make sure to read them before completing the step. It will feel like it is too big until you gather but it works out I promise! I also love the way that the pattern hides all the raw edges on the inside too!
Amanda Cunningham (verified owner) –

Lauren Clark Hill (verified owner) –
This was a great pattern. I appreciated that I was able to just use the cut chart since I didn’t do pockets. The hardest part was gathering but it was explained clearly in the directions. I fully plan on making more of these in different lengths for this summer.
Abby Batkin (verified owner) –
I have always found skirts difficult to make and buy for my body type and this one was the complete opposite! It fits well and easy to follow, will be making the other lengths that are available too. Thank you
Julie Lawson (verified owner) –
The Arabella Ladies pattern was a joy to make and turned out so well! My daughter is thrilled to have it, and wants to know when she can learn to make it for herself.
Katerina Bauman (verified owner) –
While this is a simple and straightforward skirt, every detail was considered, including french seams. The elastic back waistband makes this skirt comfortable without losing its class factor.
Kelly Tuttle (verified owner) –
I love my new skirt. Very quick sew, and very stylish.
Alieke Enders (verified owner) –
This cute skirt is made in no time! Nice pattern to make many skirts for the summer.
Bridget Taylor (verified owner) –
I enjoyed making this skirt. I did have a few confused moments due to directional fabric, but that’s not a new thing for me! I did this in a woven as well as a light-weight knit and both turned out great. The woven has more of a dressy factor to it, but my daughter was insistent that she needed a purple skirt.
In hindsight, I don’t think I’d bother with the pockets again for her even though they are relatively simple. I did french seams the first time, but went with using the overlocking foot for my regular sewing machine the second time. I think for a special fabric I’d likely stick with french seams because I prefer that look.
I will definitely be using this as my go-to pattern for quite a while for her skirts. I like the mix of an elastic back waist and a set front one. Oh.. if your kiddo is a bow person, do the wider sash. I know mine will prefer that in the future. The regular waistband looks nice, but it doesn’t have the “”wow”” of the bigger bow.
Cassandra Morris (verified owner) –
The Arabella skirt was exactly what i was after. I made a lovely knee length winter skirt and it can out perfect. And you cant go wrong with pockets!
Cindy Matthijssen (verified owner) –
Quick and easy skirt pattern! Love the different looks you can create with one pattern, by trying out different lengths, different waistband sizes, different types of fabrics or adding or leaving out the sash. The fit is spot on, and the instructions are very clear to follow. Perfect skirt for every season.
Vanja Marolt (verified owner) –
The pattern is easy to follow. Only on the waist band I got a little lost. Otherwise it will be great for my growing baby bump.
Shyela Webster (verified owner) –
The pattern was easy to follow and was quick to sew up. The tutorial directions could use a few additional pictures at different angles to help sewers.
Catherine Murdock (verified owner) –
I love this skirt , it’s so simple to sew with an amazing end result
Nadine Humblet (verified owner) –
I sew the maxi version in double gauze and I can’t wait summer to wear it! It’s so easy to wear and so chic!
Karen Kaye Manalo (verified owner) –
The Arabella pattern was an easy sew. Being able to choose the length skirts and added sash options makes it a gorgeous pattern to play and mix with to create a piece to match each and everyone’s taste. Love this skirt.
Donna Lowe (verified owner) –
I am not one to wear gather at the waist skirts, but there was something about this one that got my attention. I love the length and sash option. The fit is great is awesome. I will admit it has change my mind alittle. This is a great beginners pattern.
Magda Rindmo (verified owner) –
A fast and fun skirt to make. Fits perfect with the flat waistband on the front and the elastic in the back. I recommend everyone to try this!
Chantal van Drunen (verified owner) –
What seemed like a very, very simple sew, took a little more effort. Especially the waistband is a bit tricky, but as always the instructions are very clear and with the pictures, I got this done!
Melinda Bailey (verified owner) –
This skirt was a dream to sew, with easy to follow instructions, and looks so sweet on! Loved making this skirt!
Jenna Page (verified owner) –
Lovely skirt to make!
French seams and sticking in the ditch make a very professional finish.
Always love pockets!!!
And lots of options for length and the addition of a cute sash which can be front or back tied is just stunning

This is a great skirt! Easy to sew, professional looking on both the inside and out and, most importantly, it has POCKETS! It’s perfect for prints and solids and has so many options you’ll make it again and again.

This skirt is beautiful, I made the shorter version with tall waistband and tie as well as pockets. Such a quick and easy sew, the fit was spot on. With all the length and other options this skirt will be a staple in my closet this summer.

I’ve made this skirt in both the child and adult sizes. The pattern goes quickly and I appreciate that there isn’t much to print to get started. I think the only quirk a beginner may have is with the gathering, but if you follow what the pattern says and do it in the 4 sections it is very doable!
For the adult one, I’ll definitely have my wearer try it on first and adjust the length before hemming. I knew it’d be longer on her, but it was a LOT longer. We used a fun print and overall she loves it. This skirt also pairs nicely with the chloe cami patterns. “

I think it needs some tweaks in terms of plus size fitting.
I do notice that on smaller fits, the skirt looks so cute and it’s so easy to make that anyone without a sewing experience can do it.
Easy to follow and easy to pair it up.

Super quick sew with a BIG payoff. It’s a darling skirt that creates the perfect silhouette. My LO calls it her princess skirt. Added bonus, it takes very little fabric. I’ve already cut a second one. Super quick sew with a BIG payoff. It’s a darling skirt that creates the perfect silhouette. My LO calls it her princess skirt. Great pattern – easy to follow. I’m at the lower end of XL and could have made a L as there is so much fabric in the skirt. I used the L size elastic and had to cut it down further to get the right fit. Beautiful pattern.

This is my new favorite skirt! It’s so comfortable, I love the elastic waistband! I made the knee length version and it’s a perfect spring/summer skirt. Light and breezy! It’s easy to dress this skirt up for a night out or dress down for a quick grocery run. The pattern is well written and easy to follow. I’ll definitely be making more!

Bella, Arabella! It is a wonderful addition to her wardrobe and easy to follow pattern. She can wear her Arabella for lunch with Gramma or at church services. It twirls, too, she said. This is a highly recommended skirt!

I don’t usually sew skirts with a gathered waist, but I’m so glad I went out of my comfort zone! This is such a fun skirt with little options (such as an optional sash, tall or short waistband, and pockets!) that make it rise above the ordinary. And despite my concerns, I love how it looks on me! For an experienced sewist, the pattern is super simple using familiar techniques. If you’re a beginner though, I love the very thorough instructions and tips that walk you through techniques that every sewist needs to learn. I whole heartedly recommend this for anyone looking for an elevated look that even a beginner can accomplish.

Very simple skirt to make. Great that you can work out the sizes from the cutting chart so no need to print the pattern if you don’t want too. Enjoyed making this alot. Was very easy to add pockets aswell, everyone needs pockets xx

I’m still a beginner at sewing and found the Arabella skirt to be fun and easy to follow! I used a black satin taffeta from JoAnn Fabrics and the skirt turned out just like I imagined and hoped it would in my head! The fabric choice makes it look fancy but I still feel like the skirt is versatile enough to be dressed down with a tshirt. I loved the bow option, it was easy to add and looks very cute!

This skirt is a basic wardrobe staple but the sash option adds a nice addition to give it a bit of class and sass! I love the full skirt and instructions for beautiful finishing touches not always accounted for in other patterns I have done from other sources.

What a quick sew. The elasticated back waist make fitting very easy. I like the fact that what you see in the line drawing is what you get from this pattern . I am in love with the end product.

Very effective skirt with vintage vibe. It’s clasic, it’s chic and you have to have it!
Luana Furlanetto (verified owner) –
This is the cutest skirt! I like that I can easily use stripe fabrics since the skirt pattern isn’t round. I love the sash that gives a very cute touch to the skirt.

This pattern tested some skills I haven’t used in awhile, such as gathering. Very clear and concise instructions made it easy to put together. The skirt ended up much larger in the waist than what I had measured for – not sure if that was my mistake, or if the pattern runs large. Either way, with the tie, the skirt turned out lovely.

The Arabella is both lovely and simple to sew! The optional pockets are so practical, and you can add a sash for some extra style.
Tammy Westfahl (verified owner) –
I made the regular waistband, no sash with pockets using the serged method. It was an easy sew that is very appropriate for beginners and a quick sew for a more advanced sewer. I’ve never made french seams with pockets and will try them with my next Arabella.

Such a sweet and beautiful pattern with a lovely result!

My Arabella skirt is so twirley! I love the pockets, they were a simple addition to the pattern. The instructions were easy to follow and now that I know how to add a pockets to a side seam I can use that for other patterns. The cutting chart was helpful so I didn’t have to print the skirt pieces, just the pocket.
Tove Julén (verified owner) –
Well written pattern that is easy to follow along. Love that it has cutting charts too so you don’t have to print a big square. The skirt is so beautiful and looks alot more advanced than it is to sew!

“I love this skirt, a great beginner sew or quick sewing you’ve had more experience. The fabric choice really makes a difference. Choose something floaty and you’ll want to swish every time you wear it!
The pattern has optional pockets, plus a range of lengths, it’ll become a wardrobe staple. I’m already planning my second arabella “

Perfect pattern for a voluminous gathered straight skirt. The elasticated back waistband make’s it easy to get the perfect fit for each size and it got pockets.
Carolyn Jurick Taylor (verified owner) –
This is a great pattern for a simple, versatile skirt. I wanted a short skirt for summer, but I chose a fabric that was a little to stiff so it has more puff than I like around my waist. I’ll definitely be making more but with a softer fabric.
