The Details:

Gallery – See images from Instagram below. Or view our full tester galleries on our Facebook page here: The Talia

Skill Level – Beginner

Sizes – Pattern includes ladies’ sizes XXS to 5XL. See the size chart in the gallery above.

Options – Two lengths – tunic and knee-length dress

Ideas – Summer PJS! Makes a magnificent nightie in the longer length, or sleep top to pair with shorts in the tunic length.

Fabrics –Your fabric needs to be a stretch/knit fabric. It can be any weight, however, best results and fit will be achieved with a light to medium weight fabric. A fabric with 4-way stretch (stretches in all directions) will give more drape than a 2-way stretch (only stretches in one direction). Great examples are jersey, rayon, viscose, bamboo, ITY jersey, silk satin with elastine/lycra, and silk jersey with elastine/lycra. These will give you a lovely drape. Do not use a woven fabric.

See the fabric requirements in the gallery above for yardage. A serger/ overlocker is optional but NOT required.

Format – This trim-free pattern is a downloadable PDF and comes in A4 or US letter printable sizes. An A0 format (pattern pieces only) is also included should you wish to have your pattern printed professionally. PDF Layers allow you to select and print only the size/s you want.

  1. Katie Kennedy

What a great top for warm weather! I love the gather detail in the front and back, and the a-line bodice shape so there’s a little room for air circulation in the heat. I think this would make such a cute nightgown, too!

  2. Tania Mattes

This will become a staple piece in my wardrobe for office and casual! It’s a beautiful tank with great drape! The tutorial for binding is well laid out and helpful.

  3. Anusha Krishnamurthy

Absolutely the easiest and cutest pattern ever . Makes a pretty summer dress or a super pretty nighty .

  4. Carrie Wilson

    Quick easy, casual summer tunic/dress.

  5. Hildur Gudmundsdottir

Love love love this pattern. I made the tunic length in black lace and it was a fun sew. I see many more in my future both in tunic and shirt length.

  6. Bonnie Riley

This pattern went together so well. The straps, in particular, were explained really well. My dear daughter-in-law has requested more! It’s such a flattering and comfortable style.

  7. Jennifer Galea

Love this top. I was looking for something that was a little “extra” and this was perfect! It was straightforward and especially loved the linked videos for the twist! The finished look is amazing and it’s so comfortable to wear. I made the Talia tunic to pair with it and it’s my new favorite outfit!

  8. Anien Salomons

The gathering on the front and back make this pattern different from other basic tank top even though I feel the back gather is unnecessary.

Another quick sew pattern from Rebecca Page. The binding took the most time during assembling.

Sizing is spot on for bust measurement

  9. Sharon Courtney

A straightforward easy sew made up of 4 pattern pieces which sew up quickly thanks to the clear step by step photos and instructions. The gathers at the front and back give interest and make the top light and flowy for warmer weather. The perfect base layer to wear with the Talia Twist!

  10. Gabrielle Carisse

I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS PATTERN! It sews up like a dream and I nailed the burrito rolls on the first try thanks to the extremely helpful video links included in the pattern instructions. I can’t wait to make a bazillion more of these, they go perfect over my spaghetti strap dresses and tops – I need one in every color now!
