Such a satisfying sew! RP hits it out of the ballpark with this one. Great instructions that show how to make a pair of jeans that actually fit your kid! Awesome instructions teach even beginners how to make a pair of pants that look even better than RTW.

Such a great addition to the amazing patterns from RP! Although it was a little difficult at times to get my head around the steps (new to jeans), once I had finished, I was over the moon at this lovely pair of shorts!! Love them!
Laura Walker –
I really enjoyed making this pattern. I made the short option, with a regular fly and adjustable elastic waistband. Great instructions. I did add two inches to the length of the shorts because my son wanted longer shorts. He loves them!

It was so much fun watching these jeans go together. I loved all the steps and learning to do fell seams (another new one for me). It was real huge sense of achievement when I had a proper pair of jeans in my hand and my little boy loves them. The pockets are so well put together and you can see it has been very well thought out. My son is 3 and fits well in the 3-4 years.

Do you find jeans that fit your kids hard to find? Now you can make your own, adjusted to their exact measurements! I have a thin kid, who wears a 4 width and a 7 length, and I’ve made most of his clothes because it’s so hard to find things that fit. He has very few jeans since I’ve never been brave enough to try those. THis pattern walks you through the steps with great descriptions and pictures, and blending the sizes I needed was easy! I’ll be making several more for him in the near future!

I loved that Rebecca again made myself believe being able to sew something never planned before. A pair of jeans for my little one. And actually I could! Unbelievable. Thank you for the great pattern and tutorial!

The Joey Jeans shorts were a perfect upcycling project. I made 9-10s from a couple of pairs of adult jeans I found. Despite being my first attempt working with denim it was all pretty straightforward and the end result were a fabulous looking and well fitting pair of shorts.
Dési Rée –
Easy to follow instructions. Just be careful to use jeans needles

I made these as shorts as we are coming into summer and they look amazing thanks to a wonderful easy to follow pattern! I thought it would be so much harder to make great looking shorts but the photos and instructions meant they came together easily and simply. I see many more of these, as both shorts and full length jeans, in my future.

I really enjoyed making these jeans. They were fun and fairly easy to make with all the details of purchased jeans! My hubby saw these and thought I should make some for him – thankfully he’s too big for the kids sizes 😉

These were the first pair of jeans I’ve ever sewn and I’m so happy with the result! The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I even learned a few new techniques! I will definitely be making another pair or two.

I really enjoyed making these, and am very proud of the finished result. My son finally has a pair of jeans that fit him, there are a few minor adjustments i will make for next time but these are by far the best fitting he has ever had and he was glad to be able to pick the pocket lining and I used a heavy duty snap for the fastening instead of a button which is much easier for him to manage. He was also pleased with having 5 pockets to put all his things in 😀

Looking to learn new construction method, this jeans pattern includes flat fell seams which was a new method for me. The instructions also include serger/overlocker alternatives.

I was very intimidated by the zipper but the instructions and the illustration photos came in handy. All the pattern pieces came together perfectly. In the end I got a perfect fitting jean I have ever made for my daughter.

These jeans aren’t easy, but they are worth it. Such amazing little details make these jeans showstoppers!

I really wanted to make a pair of jeans that would actually fit my little boy. He is average height but slim and we always have to pull his trousers in to the tightest button elastic making the pockets bulge. The pattern could be ok for advanced beginners as the only real fiddly bit is the fly with the zip and you could do the faux fly instead. I did make a couple of silly mistakes and sat scratching my head for a while, haha, but once i worked it out the rest was fairly straight forward. This pattern is great if your child doesn’t fit in to shop sizing. I will make some alterations for my next pair but these are still the best fitting trousers my little boy has. Big thumbs up from him.

Love the beautiful design n fit..my boy wore it overnight..proving how comfy the fit is!!!
Mireille Ribiere –
Great pattern but takes time to make it if you want to have it just right and good fit.

I definitely love the fact that I could make a pair of jeans exactly the same as my Jo Jeans! This made the process so much faster and more rewarding! I’m glad that the option is available to take out the zipper for the 12-18+ month jeans. My only problem now is that my one year old is nowhere near big enough for them…Oh well, I’ll save them for the spring…or next fall knowing my kid…

Love that there are instructions for making an adjustable elastic waist! Plenty of opportunities to customize.
Haneke Peeters –
I thoroughly enjoyed sewing this pattern. I consider myself an intermediate-beginner but the way the instructions are detailed in this tutorial really cannot make it any easier. First time doing flat felled as well as french seams and just the instructions were enough to guide me through. I am so pleased with the finished item it looks sooo professional! Next time I would just size up the bum area for my daughter as she wears cloth which tend to be more bulky than disposable nappies.

Finally…i saw jeans for my kids?. Fit perfect and tutorial easy to follow.
Carrie Wilson –
Pattern instructions were easy to understand, went together well. Worked fine in heavy denim.

I love the shorts version of this pattern. I found this pattern to be a good fit for my model. I opted for no belt loops or jean rivets. Overall a lovely pattern to sew.
