This is a great pattern. I enjoyed doing this hand sew. The instructions were very detailed. They have a great section on exactly how to do each stitch. My kids love playing with these. There are alot of different food you can make in one pattern.
Tina Marie Baber –
I enjoyed making the Felt Food, The pattern was easy to follow and the directions were clear. I believe it would be an easy project for someone to sew. This pattern could be used to teach others or to be used in making gifts. I would venture to say that it could even to be used as a display. This will definitely become an addition to my craft patterns and will be enjoyed for many years.
Nichole Merren –
Such a fun and relaxing sew! All parts are created by hand so you are able to pick it up and put it down so it’s easy to work on when you have a few minutes. My kiddo loves using them in her pretend kitchen!
Debbie Prince –
This was a brilliant pattern, nice and relaxing to hand sew and simple instructions to follow as I have never done embroidery before. Only problem I was getting hungry making it as it looked good enough to eat. My girls will love playing with this!!
Nikki Eatwell –
This pattern is amazing! Fun to make, and really easy. My 10 year old really enjoyed helping me make this and is looking forward to playing with it. This play food would make a great gift.
Liz Faber –
I loved this sew! It took more time than I was expecting but was super fun to do while watching TV at night. The finished items are so cute and my son loves playing with them- and I love watching him play knowing that I made the items.
Heather Gratton –
This is such an addictive sew! I really wasn’t sure about making felt food but its been such a fun experience that is really quick and can be as intricate or as simple as you like. You will find your favourite and want to have loads of them!
Julie McBrien –
This is a great fun pattern. It’s a great beginner hand stitching pattern and lots of fun to make. My 6 year old loves her felt food.
Carrie-Ann Basterfield –
I loved making this. So easy to make. I loved that it can be quite varied in pattern on plate, beads for seeds.
Kim Cierpik-Gold –
Once again Rebecca Page knocks it out of the park with this fun, fun pattern for imagination play. This is my first true attempt at hand sewing, and the tutorial that comes with the pattern is perfect for learning the various stitches. Finishing the tartlet and fruit was a relaxing distraction after a full day of work, and my daughter was eyeing them the entire time!
Katie Weatherly –
I found this to be an easy sew. The project turned out so cute.
Melissa Dale –
Such a fun pattern with many options.
Linda Riggall –
What a great sew! So relaxing to do and easily portable to take with you for when you have a spare few minutes. My girls love making and “eating” the sandwiches. Mostly made from scrap size felt, it is easy on the budget too. The stitches are all very basic so it is great for beginners and my 7 and 12 year olds both made some nachos.
Ng Puay Choo –
This is an easy sew though there are many patterns to cut out and handsew. They are adorable and perfect as kid’s kitchen toys!
Ana Miguel –
I liked it. Take a lot of time because it’s hand sew but it’s great to relax 🙂
Jacinda Loydl –
Very fun and easy to hand sew! I used embroidery thread/floss to sew them together and worked out great! Can’t wait to make more!
Tiina Norrkniivilä –
A fun pattern that makes you want to do more and more. Pay attention to the felt you buy, as the thickness will affect how much interfacing you need, the overall stiffness and what kind of needle you’ll be next needing. Please take into consideration that most of the pieces are not suitable for very small children as they are so small.
The tutorial is your friend, even if it feels quite long at first glance. But the specific patterns are explained very short and with links within the tutorial on how to make the specific stitches required. Therefore it’s a good pattern for a beginner who wants to start maybe making one or two pieces and then continue if feeling like it.

Jessica Barajas –
This set is great! Really simple, and I love how varied it can be. Just change up the colors on some pieces and you have a whole different type of food. I can’t wait to make more, and my kiddos have already requested all kinds of things to fill their play kitchen!
Karen Thomas –
Love this pattern, it is so relaxing. Nice simple make. The finished items are perfect for children to use for imaginative play, it would make a great addition to any child’s play house, play kitchen or teaser. Any child will love this.
Amy Strawser –
Sewing up these felt foods was super fun! I was brand new to this type of project and these sweet little foods did not disappoint. There are so many to choose from, it’s easy to make a set of something and then add to it later.
Linda Berendsen –
I stitched this together with my daughter (7y) and we had so much fun doing it. I really liked it that it was a project we could do together. We needed to practice some stitches, but the instructions are so great, that it didn’t took long. I love to see them served on my plate while playing with the kiddo’s. 🙂
Sarah Parkhurst –
I love to sew by hand. Even for larger or more complex sews, there is nothing like the satisfaction one gains from knowing they did it all by hand. I have considered making my kids felt food items many times, but just never really got around to it. This super cute freebie came together relatively quickly and allowed me to not only practice my rust hand stitching skills, but also employ some creative license and make this pattern my own. Due to limited time, having four kids and all, I selected the food items that I knew would get played with the most and after some design input from the peanut gallery, I stitched up a delicious apple slice, banana, pineapple, orange, as well as a delightful tartlet shell for them to hang out in, and finally a slice of cheese and a slice of bread because- cheese sandwich. I have the kiwi and strawberry both cut out and in my bag to be stitched, but I was overruled and forced to make a cheese sandwich instead. Kids. For the apple, kiwi and strawberry, I used glass beads for seeds rather than attempting to argue with teeny tiny felt bits, and personally I love the look. I wish I had thought about using the beads before I stitched French knots. On felt. The size of a quarter. I think both my banana and I would have come out of the experience happier. I am already being asked for more apples and cheese because, cheese sandwiches, and I think after my time in Halloween costume purgatory is done, I’ll whip those up quick. Because, cheese sandwiches. Did I mention my boys really like cheese sandwiches?

I found creating the felt food to be very therapeutic and fun! At first I was a little puzzled as to how the pattern pieces were going to work and fit together but as I continued stitching away, I loved seeing how all the little pieces came together to form the different fruits. I especially loved learning how to use different stitches, such as the blanket stitch and the French knot – I only struggled with understanding how to do the stitches when reading the instructions but that is only probably because I am a visual learner and need to see someone actually doing it (Youtube was very helpful here). I only really experienced some difficulty in creating the whipped cream piece but other than that, the various food patterns were very simple and the instructions were easy to follow.
Nellie Bray –
Such a fun sew and absolutely adorable!! My little one could barely let me finish anything before she was playing with it! And my favorite part, even with my questionable sewing, she knew exactly what everything was. My heart was full! Thank you for such a fun pattern!
Pauline Kelly –
If you love hand sewing this is the pattern for you. I made mine for my niece as a present and enjoyed the process of making each piece for her to play with. This will provide years of fun play to come.
Bonnie Riley –
Such a sweet little pattern. The explanations for all the stitches are wonderful, and I cannot believe how cute everything turned out. The little whipped cream puffs are the best, and the amount of detail in all the fruit pieces and the pastry cup are wonderful. I was surprised at how easy the whole thing was to make, and it was relaxing to sit and do some hand sewing instead of being in front of my sewing machine. Thank you for a truly creative and perfect pattern.
Rachel Loper –
I have never had more fun playing with food! These were so much fun to make, and an easy enough project to do while watching TV. I can’t wait to give them to my niece and nephew–they’re so easy to make, though, I might have them help me make some more!
Lili Poelzer –
I love this pattern! Super cute, super easy, and the kids absolutely love the end result!
Virginia Leo –
This is a fun & easy pattern to sew! Stitches are easy to learn if you haven’t done hand embroidery before. I thought they were going to be real fiddly, but they weren’t and actually quite fun! I found out that I am NOT good at whip stitch, tho!!
Nellie Bray –
Oh goodness, this was such a fun sew! And the little I made it for was so excited that she wouldn’t even let me show her all the pieces, she just grabbed it from my hands and took off playing and loving every bit of it! I’ve even been asked for more!
Crystal Anderson –
This is a great pattern for a gift, for your own little people to learn how to sew (or you to gift to them), and to hone in your hand sewing skills.
I even made a whole plate of nachos!

A really fun pattern with lots of choices. I learnt a few new hand sewing stitches. Overall was a really easy to follow pattern but I think some of the new stitches could do with a few more photos as the instructions were quite hard to understand. My daughter loves the food so is now excited that she can finally play with it!
