The FULL version of the children’s Portia Party Dress, a relaxed but lovely sewing pattern. The knit and woven versions each have slightly different instructions and pattern pieces. The knit version is more form fitting in its cut and just pulls on over the head. The woven version has more ease in the cut and has an invisible zipper in the side seam.
Skill Level – Perfect for beginner to intermediate sewistas
Sizes – Children’s sizes newborn to 12 years. However, please measure against the size chart, and make sure to read the fitting advice in the pattern and sew a muslin of the top portion to ensure you get a perfect fit. See size chart, finished garment measurements, and yardage in the gallery above.
- 4 lengths (maxi, midi, knee, and a shorter above knee length)
- 2 styles to the back – completely open to the waist, or stitched half way up the back and then open to the neck.
- fastens back with ribbon or a thread looped around a single button
- lining option which is suitable for both knit and woven fabric. It lends itself perfectly to sheer fabrics, and lace or beaded overlays for that special look!
Fabrics – Suitable for both knit or woven fabrics. A serger/overlocker is optional but NOT required.
Format – This trim-free pattern is a downloadable PDF and comes in A4 or US letter printable sizes. An A0 format (pattern pieces only) is also included should you wish to have your pattern printed professionally. PDF Layers allow you to select and print only the size/s you want.
