It’s a nice simple pattern – once you’re used to it, you could make a few in a day, and they look super cute on. I preferred it without the elasticated sleeves. They look so cute and fluttery!
Amanda Maese-Herron (verified owner) –
I would say this is a staple for anyone’s pattern collection. It could be easily modified and made with more than one type of fabric. Also, the size range is very nice. I loved that it was quick to cut and sew. Sometimes I need something for a special occasion but don’t have the time to cut out a pattern that has several pieces. This could also be a project for my 9 year old whom is learning to sew.
Valerie Dufort (verified owner) –
I would say that it is a wardrobe staple that can be dress up or down, a great blank canvas with lots of embellishment possibilities, still very comfortable to play and move for our little one.

I seriously enjoyed the whole pattern…but most particularly the french seam tutorial. I’ve never sewn French seams before (I may or may not have been a little scared of them…) but you explained it in an excellent way. I completely got it first time around, and can’t wait to do them on everything!! French seam ALL the projects!! ? I love how flattering this top is on my baby. 🙂 The steps are clear and the pattern pieces are well marked out 🙂 You are going to make SO many of these!! Buy it! Buy it now!!! 😀 You’ll be glad you did! Its a fast and uncomplicated sew ☺

Bridget Taylor –
The child’s olivia is exactly the type of tunic top my daughter prefers to wear. It is super easy to get on herself, plus looks nice paired with leggings. I made it in a light knit and it came together fast with true-to-age sizing for her.
I’d recommend this as a beginner level tunic dress because the sleeves are so easy to set in. Usually, I’d dread sleeves for little girl dresses due to the small openings. This one is constructed so you do the armpit stitching and then the top of the sleeve is incorporated into an easy gathered (by elastic, not by hand!) neckline.
The other perk to this make is it makes for a good foundation for adding on embroidery and lace. I will definitely be doing quite a few more of these because they’re the perfect staple piece for any little one that wants to dress themselves! Paired with the Pippa pants (also a super easy sew) and she’s set. “

Very easy sew. I liked the option of using a serger or doing french seams. I did the french seams and will use this method in the future. The pattern seemed on the big side. I used my daughter’s measurements and had to take in the elastic on the neck quite a bit and the top overall is on the long side for her. I look forward to making more of these tops, as their easy wear for summer.
