Shelley Clark –
This is a great shopping bag pattern. Nice to be able to zip them up into a smaller size when not using.
Heather Luben –
This is a fun pattern that is very useful! In general it’s a very easy pattern to follow…not many steps, pretty straight forward assembly…the zipper takes a bit of patience and fiddling, but is worth the time to get right!
Alieke Enders –
Who doesn’t need a fold up zipper bag? With the very detailed manual, anyone can make such a beautiful fold up zipper bag! Also useful for getting rid of the somewhat larger scraps.
Donna Lowe –
I am always forgetting to take a shopping bag with me when I go shopping. These bags are great for slipping into your purse or hanging on your keys. I am loving them and the different sizes makes it even more convient. I don’t think I’ll be forgetting my shopping bag anymore.
Kyra Delaney –
I love how perfectly sized the medium bag was and how it simply folds into a zippered pouch. Sewing the zipper in along the curves was a bit tough to line up perfectly and I did make some mistakes. That said the finished bag is sturdy, tailored, and perfect for going out and getting groceries. Haven’t had a chance to test it out yet but so happy with my sew today.
Lisa Corriveau –
The foldable shopping bag is a fairly quick sew, & not too complicated to make, though you need to be quite careful when attaching the zipper & the base. The finished result is a handy, compact way to always have a reusable bag when needed!
Loraine Wilkinson –
Great bag to make!
Peggy Pazera Cooke –
The zipper is a little tricky, but once you get it, it makes a great bag that is extremely useful. The zipper is a little tricky, but once you get it, it makes a great bag that is extremely useful.
Adelle Pears –
This is a very useful bag! It folds away nicely and it’s really handy to be able to clip it on to keys or a handbag. I found adding the zip a challenge but it’s because I missed an important note in the instructions, go slow and read them throughly!
Deb Sendelbach –
This is a great pattern. What a great way to store a bag and take it with you in your purse for the next great shopping trip. It comes in 3 sizes which are very generous. This is definitely a must have pattern.
Francisca Beitler –
The shape of this bag is great. It can be used for shopping, holidays, going to the beach etc. etc. It is perfect for using left-over fabric or old sheets. Without a zipper it is a quick and easy project. With the zipper, it takes a bit more time and experience.
Branka Čelić –
Foldable Shopping Bag is a neccessity for every purse. Grab it for every store or library visit. Quite sturdy and roomy, even a Medium size is sufficient for 6 bottles of water or whatever you need to carry. After use, just zip it up and neatly store.
Kel J –
The medium bag is a great size and you can fit so much in it. I love how sturdy the straps are. I struggled to get the zipper neat but it still folds up nicely into the pouch.
Jemma Tredinnick –
This makes a really cute and handy bag which folds up and clips onto your handbag. I made a small size (it was the only zip I had) and used a quite heavy cotton. It was fiddly to sew on the zip but so worth it when you flip the bag the right way round and have a perfect little pouch. If you just follow the instructions and take the sewing slowly and carefully the zip will work nicely. I now have a very hand bag to carry everywhere.
Melissa Dale –
A quick sew and a great way to be environmentally friendly.
Clare Bowes –
“These shopping bags are great for carrying with you “just in case” and with 3 size options.
Even the small & medium being big enough to carry a decent amount, and are a perfect size for keeping in a handbag or pocket.
The zip steps can be a bit fiddly, so make sure to take your time for each step.
It’s a good intermediate sew.
“
Aimee Lim –
Not exactly the easiest make. Zipper with curve edges can be quite handful for the less experienced. The Large bag is really roomy!
Hayati Jamil –
The zipper part is really a challenge. But I conquered it well. Now it is shopping time!!!. Made the large size. It gives you enormous space to carry almost everything from groceries, books, fabrics, even laundry 👍👍
Liz Faber –
This bag looks so good when made. Take your time sewing the zipper and it falls in to place.
Genevieve Lynne Grossmann –
I really enjoyed this sew. The zip installation can get a little finnicky but I thought that the instructions were very clear and following each step resulted in a really cute bag.
Kelle Lujan –
A very useful and practical sewing project! The medium size is quite generous and holds a good amount of produce. I also love it doesn’t use much fabric. I have several smaller bits of quilting type fabric just waiting to be made into bags! I think I’ll attempt the small one next in a coordinating fabric. Can’t wait to make a whole set!
Amber Stefanick –
I love that this pattern comes in 3 different sizes and all fold down small. They are perfect for tossing in the car for unplanned errands!
Magda Rindmo –
A quite hard pattern due to the zipper. Wish it was easier. But the result was nice
Debbie Groves –
The zipper is challenging but once done the bag is very useful.
Nadine Simard –
Fashionable shopping bag! This project was a little tricky to do but it has a great finishing process to hide all the seams.
Jamie Adler –
The foldable shopping bag is more than a useful pattern; it is a great asset to our life. We have found the foldable shopping bag fits into the glove compartment, a better place for shopping bags than all around the vehicle.
Jenny Gomez –
The zipper was a bit challenging, but I love the finished product
Alisha Sparks Adams –
Cute pattern! I love having patterns that are everyday useful. This one is great. The zipper insertion can be a little tricky, but the rest comes together in a snap. Can’t wait to make more!
Magda Rindmo –
A quite hard pattern due to the zipper. Wish it was easier. But the result was nice
Maja –
Step by step guide to sew has bring me to the best and the nicest shopping bag that I have. I will deffinetly sew this pattern again in other sizes.
Mariah FairWall –
The zipper was a little tricky to figure out. After re-reading a few times it made more sense. A few more pictures of zipper installation would make it easier to understand. Also wording zipper as right side up/down as these are the wordings most patterns use, so easier to understand.
Natasha Hepburn –
I loved this pattern for the foldable shopping bag , its ideal for either clipping onto my keys, on popping into my handbag, glove compartment you name it! It is great to have something on hand for those impulse buys. The pattern was clear and easy to follow. So far I have made the largest bag and it a brilliant size for bigger items but still folds down small enough to be portable and convenient. I made mine with cotton and a thicker interfacing, when I make more I will choose a thinner interfacing or thicker cotton as I was not happy with the finish I produced. The trickiest part was getting the zip around the corners. It was really helpful to have the ladder stitch tutorial included especially if you are new to hand finishing. Overall a great pattern and make and will certainly be making more!
Shankari Paradee –
This was a quick albeit challenging sew! I feel that even I was challenged in adding the zipper! You have got to be very careful in placing the zipper and sewing around the curves of the bottom of the shopping bag base. Also, I did not use a zipper foot, so it is possible to make this design without a zipper foot!
Bernadette Aitken –
This is a good looking bag with plenty of space. The zipper takes careful attention to get right, but it is so satisfying when it all comes together well. All of the raw edges are concealed, which leaves you with a lovely neat finish.
Nadia Cadby –
Great pattern – loved the outcome though I should have paid more attention to the zip placement and which side should face up! I can’t wait to make the medium in a variety of colours; such a handy bag.
Linda Riggall –
A useful sew but a little tricky to get the zip right. The 2nd and 3rd bags were so much easier.
Tania Watson –
This is a great little bag to stash away for shopping trips. I like the added clip so you don’t loose it. As long as you are confident sewing zips you should have no problem sewing this up.
Shauna Richards –
This bag is great! Love the finished look of it and the convenience of being able to put my shopping bag in my purse. No longer will I have the issue of putting all my groceries on top of my reusable bags and then not being able to get the bags out at check out! It is a good day to go shopping!
Krystyna Czerwiec –
Easy to sew, very handful and eco-friendly, I love it! Bye bye plastic and paper bags!
