Katie Kennedy –
I sewed jeans! I really never thought I’d see the day, but here we are. I was delighted to have ample instructions available to hold my hand throughout the process, and my only adjustments were for height and my luxurious calves. This gave me a huge boost of confidence and I won’t be so intimidated to sew another pair!
Julie Allen Lovegrove –
I LOVED making my own jeans! I’m amazed that I could! This pattern is so straightforward and explains every step simply, so that anyone CAN make their own jeans! And the best part is, you can make jeans that actually fit your body properly. I will definitely be making more of these!
Nali Nali –
This is my first time sewing jeans pattern and I love all the details on it. The instructions are easy to follow. The cutting is nice and very comfortable to wear. I can see myself making many more of this!
I made my cool jeans with a thick cotton that has some stretch. The fit is perfected after some small adjustments on my toile.
Loren Lewis –
These were an absolute wonderful sew, once I got the hang of sewing with denim! They are such a great fit, and I love that they sit just on my belly button! Summer is approaching FAST in Aus, and these will now be a staple in my wardrobe!!
Leigh Ann McDermott –
Wonderful pattern. This is my fourth attempt at jeans. All of the other have been a failure. Although these are a little large in my hips I think some minor adjustments and this will be in steady rotation.
Sue Parrott –
These are fun jeans to make! If you’ve never made jeans, try this pattern! Every step is very fully explained and the directions are easy to follow. You’ll get a great result with this pattern!
Rachel Ellis –
This is a straight forward jeans pattern with some very nice techniques on pockets. This is a good pattern if you are sewing jeans for the first time.
Anna Belle –
Clear instructions and easy to follow pattern. Waistband is a bit high and I could go a full size down at least.
Heather Luben –
Jeans that fit are so hard to find, but now, with the Jo Jeans pattern, I can solve those fit issues for myself! I can blend sizes to fit my own body, and make jeans that fit exactly the way I like, in any fabric that I choose! These jeans have lots of normal-jeans details like pockets, coin pockets, working fly and belt loops, and the option to have lots of fun on the pockets. I see many more in my future!
Veronica Hartwig –
This pattern has great instructions and is very easy to sew along. Investing in a jeans needles was smart as it made sewing through the thicker folds easier. I love the fit and the way it flatters my body.
Debbie Prince –
This is my first ever pair of jeans and i found the instructions easy to follow and learned new seam techniques which sounds scary but are super simple. I can see me making alot more of these and shorts for summer too. Xx
Khirya Littoria –
Well adapted fit. Accessible as an intermediary, if you take your time.
Daph Né Geeraerd –
The Jo jeans is a nice sew, the pants fits perfectly when you follow the instruction given by Rebecca. I will make this jeans again!
Shaina O’Dell –
A great jeans pattern with cute accents!
Candice Robb –
I really like this pattern. The jeans fit well even without any adjustments. Most of the instructions were very clear and I even learned a couple of new techniques.
Mélanie Couture –
I finished my jeans this weekend. OMG I was in love. They are so confortable and fit perfectly. I’m glad I finish them. Can’t wait to wear them tomorrow night to go in a comedy show premiere! My hubby was really impress.
Laura Murray –
This is the first pair of proper jeans I’ve made, and I really enjoyed making them. They took longer than I thought they would, but I think that’s mainly because I used different thread for top stitching, so kept changing thread over all the time. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and I’m really pleased with the end result.
Genevieve Lynne Grossmann –
I have been wanting to make myself a pair of jeans and I was really happy with how these turned out. They were a lot of work but it was really worth it. My jeans fit me really well and I can see myself using this pattern so much in the future.
Dési Rée –
Once you made a muslin and know what adjustments to make it is a pretty easy sew
Gabriella Hägglund –
My first real jeans that I sewn. It was really fun to learn the proper techniques and the instructions are great as always. The fit is really good, my teenage daughter think They look great, and that is really a indication that They really do look great
Sherley-ann Meunier –
I did a straight medium even though I was large for waist, and it fits perfectly! This is exactly my kind of skinny jeans. I had never worked with denim before, never done a fly zipper or belt loops; went like a charm! Instructions are clear, though maybe it could have more marking on the pattern, just to help beginners.
Sarah Klein –
This was a challenging sew, and I’ll.need to work on some alterations to make the jeans fit perfectly, but I’m so excited to be able to make my own jeans!
Sandy Simpson –
I must admit to being nervous about making these shorts – it was the first time for making pants with a proper fly. I was pleasantly surprised to find how simple the process was. The instructions were clear and concise and the whole garment came together beautifully. I will now attempt the jeans, complete with belt loops and contrasting top stitching.
Jenni Elizabeth Early –
I am so excited the RP has a men’s pants pattern!! My son has been out of the children’s patterns for a year or more, and it’s difficult to find pants that fit a tween. It was fairly straightforward to choose his size based on his hips and waist measurements and then take height off. The pattern gives clear instructions on where/how to adjust. And I love having pants that actually fit him. Will be making more for sure!!
Laura Walker –
Great pattern! I’d never made anything for my husband before, so I was a little nervous but they turned out fantastic. He loves his new jean shorts and I’m pretty impressed with them myself! Fitting them just right can be a little tricky, so I recommend them for intermediate sewistas (or an advanced beginner if you want to challenge yourself!).
Francisca Beitler –
I had never sewn a jeans befor, but with the instructions step by step it was possible to make a great jeans for my husband. I will definitely use this pattern to sew more jeans in the nearby future.
Rachel Ellis –
Great straight forward sew. The fit was a little on the large size at the waist but the waistband is easy adjustable as it’s in 3 parts.
Vineeta –
Finally I can make a pair of jeans…and that too as per my desired fit. Next one will be shorts for sure.
Jenni Elizabeth Early –
Such a satisfying sew! RP hits it out of the ballpark with this one. Great instructions that show how to make a pair of jeans that actually fit your kid! Awesome instructions teach even beginners how to make a pair of pants that look even better than RTW.
Loren Lewis –
Such a great addition to the amazing patterns from RP! Although it was a little difficult at times to get my head around the steps (new to jeans), once I had finished, I was over the moon at this lovely pair of shorts!! Love them!
Laura Walker –
I really enjoyed making this pattern. I made the short option, with a regular fly and adjustable elastic waistband. Great instructions. I did add two inches to the length of the shorts because my son wanted longer shorts. He loves them!
Kirstine Davies –
It was so much fun watching these jeans go together. I loved all the steps and learning to do fell seams (another new one for me). It was real huge sense of achievement when I had a proper pair of jeans in my hand and my little boy loves them. The pockets are so well put together and you can see it has been very well thought out. My son is 3 and fits well in the 3-4 years.
Heather Luben –
Do you find jeans that fit your kids hard to find? Now you can make your own, adjusted to their exact measurements! I have a thin kid, who wears a 4 width and a 7 length, and I’ve made most of his clothes because it’s so hard to find things that fit. He has very few jeans since I’ve never been brave enough to try those. This pattern walks you through the steps with great descriptions and pictures, and blending the sizes I needed was easy! I’ll be making several more for him in the near future!
Agnes Bobak –
I loved that Rebecca again made myself believe being able to sew something never planned before. A pair of jeans for my little one. And actually I could! Unbelievable. Thank you for the great pattern and tutorial!
Jo Sharp –
The Joey Jeans shorts were a perfect upcycling project. I made 9-10s from a couple of pairs of adult jeans I found. Despite being my first attempt working with denim it was all pretty straightforward and the end result were a fabulous looking and well fitting pair of shorts.
Dési Rée –
Easy to follow instructions. Just be careful to use jeans needles
Liz Faber –
I made these as shorts as we are coming into summer and they look amazing thanks to a wonderful easy to follow pattern! I thought it would be so much harder to make great looking shorts but the photos and instructions meant they came together easily and simply. I see many more of these, as both shorts and full length jeans, in my future.
Gaylen Matlock –
I really enjoyed making these jeans. They were fun and fairly easy to make with all the details of purchased jeans! My hubby saw these and thought I should make some for him – thankfully he’s too big for the kids sizes 😉
Candice Robb –
These were the first pair of jeans I’ve ever sewn and I’m so happy with the result! The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I even learned a few new techniques! I will definitely be making another pair or two.
Michelle Mason –
I really enjoyed making these, and am very proud of the finished result. My son finally has a pair of jeans that fit him, there are a few minor adjustments i will make for next time but these are by far the best fitting he has ever had and he was glad to be able to pick the pocket lining and I used a heavy duty snap for the fastening instead of a button which is much easier for him to manage. He was also pleased with having 5 pockets to put all his things in 😀
Nadine Simard –
Looking to learn new construction method, this jeans pattern includes flat fell seams which was a new method for me. The instructions also include serger/overlocker alternatives.
Frieda Flavianu –
I was very intimidated by the zipper but the instructions and the illustration photos came in handy. All the pattern pieces came together perfectly. In the end I got a perfect fitting jean I have ever made for my daughter.
Jess Boaz-Head –
These jeans aren’t easy, but they are worth it. Such amazing little details make these jeans showstoppers!
Gill Jerman –
I really wanted to make a pair of jeans that would actually fit my little boy. He is average height but slim and we always have to pull his trousers in to the tightest button elastic making the pockets bulge. The pattern could be ok for advanced beginners as the only real fiddly bit is the fly with the zip and you could do the faux fly instead. I did make a couple of silly mistakes and sat scratching my head for a while, haha, but once i worked it out the rest was fairly straight forward. This pattern is great if your child doesn’t fit in to shop sizing. I will make some alterations for my next pair but these are still the best fitting trousers my little boy has. Big thumbs up from him.
Suzi Nasoor –
Love the beautiful design n fit..my boy wore it overnight..proving how comfy the fit is!!!
Mireille Ribiere –
Great pattern but takes time to make it if you want to have it just right and good fit.
Monaco Parker –
I definitely love the fact that I could make a pair of jeans exactly the same as my Jo Jeans! This made the process so much faster and more rewarding! I’m glad that the option is available to take out the zipper for the 12-18+ month jeans. My only problem now is that my one year old is nowhere near big enough for them…Oh well, I’ll save them for the spring…or next fall knowing my kid…
Chiara Kruse –
Love that there are instructions for making an adjustable elastic waist! Plenty of opportunities to customize.
Jenni Elizabeth Early –
Such an amazing pattern! With a great tutorial of adjustments and comprehensive instructions, Rebecca Page guides you all the way from muslin to a finished pair of custom fit jeans. It’s like magic!!
Haneke Peeters –
I thoroughly enjoyed sewing this pattern. I consider myself an intermediate-beginner but the way the instructions are detailed in this tutorial really cannot make it any easier. First time doing flat felled as well as french seams and just the instructions were enough to guide me through. I am so pleased with the finished item it looks sooo professional! Next time I would just size up the bum area for my daughter as she wears cloth which tend to be more bulky than disposable nappies.
Chiara Kruse –
I made the shorts. They are perfect for summer with a fun high/low leg opening.
Frieda Flavianu –
I had fun sewing the Jo jeans. I was feeling intimidated by the zipper at first but the detailed instructions helped me in making this project a success. My daughter loves them and its the first jeans that fit her perfectly.
Jana Housková –
I have never thought I could see the jeans and its great pattern. I made one from not good material but I will definitely make another one with higher percentage of elastic.
Intan Sofia –
Finally…i saw jeans for my kids?. Fit perfect and tutorial easy to follow.
Anusha Krishnamurthy –
My first ever men’s pattern and looks like i will be making more . Detailed instructions and great pattern .
Donna Lowe –
This was my first official jean makes and it was a pleasure to make. My model was very happy and asked for another one. I love them!
