Katie Fletcher –
I really enjoyed making this pattern. I don’t often sew for the man in my life, and he really likes the cowl hood as it is different to anything else he owns. I used the condensed instructions, and I was able to easily understand what to do. The sweatshirt fits well, and I am planning on making the ladies and children’s versions for the rest of the family.
Randie Dodman –
Awesome pattern! Super fast and easy, the instructions were clear. I love the flexibility in fabric choice. I’m super happy that now the whole family can have matching sweaters!

Jen Vincilione –
I sized down to make the hoodie a little more fitted and it worked out wonderfully, so now I have a pattern that can be a fitted or relaxed hoodie!
An Staute –
A quick sew with an awesome hoodie/cowl!
Lim Boon Kuan –
medium is slim fit for me, and it looks great. its easier than i anticipated. love love love the cowl. will be making more. similarly for the dreamy drape. need to make lots more!
Sarah Boses –
The name says it all – quick sew, very cozy and looks cute too!
Katie Droskiewicz –
The comfy cowl is, well, SO comfy! I put it on my two month old and she couldn’t stop smiling she loved it so much! I love how warm and cozy it looks on her and how easy of a sew it was! The extra tips throughout the patter definitely helped make it a perfect fit!
Anien Salomons –
Comfy Cowl is so quick and easy to assemble. I made one for my boy and it was perfect for a windy autumn days.
The fit is tight fitting for a sweater, so better size up especially when using heavier weight knit fabric
Tori Priest –
The perfect pattern to make a cozy fall sweater with an oversize cowl to keep your neck warm whether it is up or down!!
Siska Ferdina Taslim –
Pattern and tutorial are great and easy to follow. Great fit too! I love that I get a cowl and a hoodie in one jumper!
Shannon Tunks –
The Comfy Cowl is exactly that – comfy!! I’ve had this pattern for quite some time, but just hadn’t found the time to make it up. But I will definitely be finding the time now, and I won’t need a lot of it (time that is)!! This pattern was very simple and super quick to put together – even for a beginner knit sewer like myself. Will definitely be making many more, both for myself, and my kids. Highly recommend giving this pattern a go!
Sabrina Ropp –
This shirt was easier than it looked, the only slightly tricky bits were the set in sleeves and making sure the cowl wasn’t on backwards. Once you’ve mastered those, you will be a cowl making machine! This shirt can be made from all kinds of stretch fabrics from warm and cozy fleece to a slinky jersey knit for a dressier look.
Nikki McCarty –
Just like the name implies, this top is comfy! I love that it goes together quickly (and all bands means no hemming) and the cowl can double as a hood. I’ve been wearing it almost non stop since I made it and it’s been wonderful as the weather cools down.
Nadia Fovakis –
Easy quick sew producing a fun, practical garment.
Magda Rindmo –
Good pattern, fairly easy to make. Love the results!
Lisa Lazenby –
This was my very first Rebecca Page purchase and it got me hooked on the brand! I have used it now for both of my sons and my daughter as well as several gifts. This pattern will be getting a lot of use! The instructions were clear and easy to follow as well.
Lisa Dawson –
Great instructions included fun to sew for my son Ill definately make more It covers part of his face for colder days
Kerry Wallman –
This pattern is very straightforward. The cowl hood is super cozy and lays nicely. Some other patterns I’ve done with a cowl option can look weird when it gathers around the neck, but this one is different. Great in the itty bitty sizes – it’s fun that baby can match mama!
Kendall Gray –
The Comfy Cowl pattern is the perfect cool weather pattern. I love the oversized hood. It is very cozy and adds extra warmth to a traditional hoodie style. It’s great for lounging in. The cowl is like a warm blanket to snuggle in while enjoying a warm beverage. It’s also great for when you have to step outdoors. You can cover your head and face to keep the wind out. It’s like a built in scarf. I’ve already made two and see a third in my near future. It’s a quick sew and easy to follow pattern.
Kelly Nicholas –
There is not a lot of variety of patterns available for Boys in PDF format as there are for girls. So when I find one that has a solid base to it, I hold tight and look forward to using it in as many ways as possible. The Comfy Cowl though is one that looks amazing on my son, without any hacking required. He loves that it has “a hat” (the hood) and a pocket. I love that he looks more stylish and less like I’m letting him run around in his PJ’s. My only note is that the sizes are split into two sets of nested patterns, below size 2 and then above. Which wouldn’t be a huge deal but my slim guy is in an 18-24 month in width but size 3 in height, so I had to print more than one copy to get all of my grading done correctly. But for the quality of the rest of the design, it’s a minor detail I can handle.
Jess Mullens –
A wonderful pattern for the whole family! Very easy and quick sew!
Jen Kolar –
This is such a great pattern! You will want to make a bunch of these cozy sweatshirts. The cuffs make it a perfect pattern to size up and get a few years of wear for the kiddo sizes. My children LOVE their Comfy Cowls!
Erica Nemnich –
This cowl is super comfy and fun. Looks super cute on the baby. Next time I make tho, I will lower the cowl in the front as it’s a bit too tall for a newborn in my opinion
Emily Schimelfenyg –
I love the Comfy Cowl! So cozy and cute and a pretty fast sew.
Catherine Saxe –
This is the perfect pattern for fall. Comfy, cozy, and cute! Perfect for matching mother-daughter outfits.
Andreia de Almeida –
This was a super easy make that looks good in a variety of fabrics. I made mine in a light loop-back sweater knit, and I love wearing it! Overall it was a very easy make and the instructions were great and easy to follow, as usual for RP patterns.
Ana Inês Barros –
Probably one of my favourite sweater pattern. And available for the whole family <3
Alyssa Finn –
The comfy cowl has got to be, hands down, my favorite cowl I’ve made. Every single time my kids put them on not only do THEY love it because it’s cozy but also a “hoodie” if they want it, but my husband compliments the design of it… He’s nuts over the dual “sweater” and “hoodie” aspect! My oldest loves it so much she went out of her way to point out several times that this is exactly the kind of shirt she had been asking me for over the past week. Off I go, to make some more! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the comfy cowl! It’s a BIG hit for us!
Lerinda Swan –
This pattern is simply amazing. It was simple to cut and construct. They fit well and are so comfortable! (My only issue was the cuff/forearm portion of the sleeve being tight on my daughter’s 12-18 month size. It could possibly use a arm measurement space for those with more chunky arms like my girl.)
Kristin Rohde –
The pattern is beautiful and even more comfortable than I imagined. The instructions are so easy to follow because of all the pictures! I doubled the height of my sleeve cuffs and for plowed the thumb hole hack on the RP blog and it is complete love!
Jennifer Anne Reeves –
This pattern is amazing. I love the sweatshirt. It lives up to the name–comfy indeed. The sew is quick but looks so professional. This is a staple piece, do sure.
Vicky Boucher –
Quick and easy sew. It’s so confortable, you have to get thiamine on your wardrobe! Love it so much
Bunky Bell –
Easy and quick sew
Lola Buns –
Swoon! I adore this pattern. I made one for each of my kids, including the one that’s still in utero. I can’t wait to see them all together. It looks so comfy, momma needs to for herself to complete the bundle I bought. This time….thumb holes! Thank you for yet another great pattern!
Emma Zobel –
The Comfy Cowl is a really fun and quick sew. It is so cute with the hood up or down, I really love the look of the cowl! Thank you for this awesome pattern!
Meg Fleshman –
This hoodie is a great basic with a twist. the hoodie is very comfortable and sews up quickly and the cowl is a nice feature that I suprisingly really enjoyed.
Cordelia Henderson –
This was a tough pattern due to the fact that it is made with knit, but it turned out so pretty and I love it!!
Sarah Miller –
You need this pattern! You will want the men’s, ladies, and the kids sizes as soon as you make one! This was a super quick and easy make! A very beginner friendly pattern. It took me less time to sew it than it took to put the pattern together and cut my fabric! Such a comfortable easy sew! Once you sew one you will want to sew one for everyone in your household!
Malorie McClennon –
Such a quick sew and the results are amazing!!! My girls are so happy with their hoodies and I can’t wait to make more. This is the pattern you grab when fall catches you off guard and you need something quick and warm to make!
Cara Girven –
The Comfy Cowl Hoodie lives up to its name…it’s so comfy! The way the cowl/hood is done is so ingenious, and there are so many ways you can style it. The fit is perfect as well, slightly fitted so it’s not boxy, but loose enough for a relaxed feeling. I would definitely recommend this as a great addition to your fall wardrobe.
Adriana Benitez –
This pattern is well written, easy to sew, and adorable. It fits my children so well too. I love this pattern!
Nicole Librojo –
i love this hoodie for my boys. At first I was not sure if it would suit them, but I’m glad I tried it! the fit was spot on. The instructions were clear and the pattern is well drafted.
Katie Kennedy –
This is a straightforward pattern with great results! Both the written instructions and the photos are easy to follow along and there are some good tips for beginners along the way, so no one should feel intimidated to sew this. My only change was to blend between two sizes and I followed the size charts to make this decision. My hoodie fits exactly as planned!
Ummul Masakin –
I love the fit. And the cowl and hoody are cute together.
Jess Boaz-Head –
This is an amazing fall/winter staple! It’s super cute with the hood up or down and it provides tons of warmth.
Margaret Snow Layman –
I procrastinated making this because the pocket and hood were both new to me. I don’t know why I worried. I followed the instructions and the pieces went together beautifully. I sometimes want to avoid the ironing, topstitching and other time consuming parts, but the results make it worth it. I can’t wait to make big brother a matching one!
Kayla Kissane –
Already posted on main website: Very quick and easy pattern with a nice large cowl ?
Karen Greenhalgh –
“First time making a hoody for my other half. I made a straight size medium and as I made it as a surprise I couldn’t test the fit until it was finished. The pattern came together beautifully, no trouble inserting the sleeves and one of the easiest I’ve done.
He absolutely loves it, especially the cowl effect to keep his neck warm. It for him perfectly and his friend has asked me to make one for him!”
Carrie Wilson –
Quick easy sew with a comfy hood/cowl neck that is quick up and down. Makes me want to snuggle in.
jess boaz-head –
I found this pattern incredibly easy and such a quick sew! From cutting to finish it was about an hour and half. The instructions are so clear and easy to follow along. Having the inset sleeves also makes for a quick and easy construction with a great fit. The fit is loose but not baggy and hits the right curves. I will be wearing mine often!
Annick Campenaert –
I love this (easy to make) hoodie! It’s not only beautiful, but also very comfy and cozy! Nothing but praise for this pattern ❤️.
Aaronica Cole –
This takes the standard hoodie to the next level. I LOVE wearing this hoodie—it is one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe!
Xuan Nguyen –

Sheila Hlushak –
The clear instructions and great drafting insure excellent results. I love the cowl neckline adds great design feature and another opportunity to use a coordinating fabric.
Heather Gratton –
Love the cowl neck as a feature, places it in different positions completely changes the style of the jumper..from slightly more formal to very casual. Easy sew, well explained.
Beth Partain –
I loved that I could sew this entire shirt on my serger no fussy knit hems. I am going to be on the look out for more fabric to make a few more of these for this winter.
Emily Yearwood-Lee –
“I am very pleased with how this turned out and have had several friends either ask where I got the pattern, or if I will make one for them. The grade from waist to hip is quiet flattering.
I also really enjoy how simple the pattern instructions are. The photographs are much more user-friendly that the traditional illustrations you usually see in pattern packages. I also appreciate having the ability to print only my size, as a time saver.
(Not for the website, just my opinion – I do prefer to wear the cowl down around my shoulders, rather than as a hoodie. I think the hood is just to big and looks a bit more Lord of the Rings cape hood than I would prefer. I would suggest providing an option to make the hood smaller and with a closer fit to the head. It is simply gorgeous with cowl sitting in folds against the neck.) “
Lucy Lloyd –
Literally the quickest and comfiest pattern! I’m not a big hoodie fan but the comfy cowl is very flattering. I love that the cowl can be used as a big hood also adding to the comfiness. The instructions are very clear very helpful to a beginner or someone who is a bit intimidated by sewing a hood – I love it!
Layni Van Hyning –
Such a fun and easy sew! The instructions were clear and helpful, the pattern pieces were well labeled, and everything came together perfectly!

Margaret Snow Layman –
My son and husband have been enjoying the Comfy Cowls I made them so now it was my turn. This didn’t disappoint. I love how the pieces went together so easily. Minus the time it took to iron and switch machines, this was a super fast sew. I went out of my comfort zone with some color and pattern choices and I love the results.
Stephanie Carnovale –
Finally I can sew something my husband is happy to wear! The pattern was so easy to follow, a great pattern if you are a beginner with stretch fabric.

Fantastic, easy to sew pattern. The tips for sewing knits are fantastic and helped to produce a great result. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Using different weights of knits will make this a versatile pattern no matter what the weather outside is doing, from jersey knit to polar fleece I will be making a multitude of the Comfy Cowls for all the men, young and old, in my life.
Dani Arthur –
Is there such thing as a dressy hoody?? I guess now there is! My husband looks so handsome in this sewn with a Euro marle french terry. Love the great instructions for a quite simple sew with a great finish.
Tracey Vink-Fox –
The directions are very easy to follow and the construction and sewing of the garment benefit from this. The overall fit is a relaxed loose fit giving the sweater a more casual feel and is suitable voor many age groups and activities.
Rachel Ellis –
“I’m in love with this pattern and my family are too.
Finding great patterns for men especially larger men is not that easy but this ticks all the boxes…..and he asked for more!!!!!!
Easy to download, print and I can’t praise the instructions enough they are very comprehensive and after a good read over coffee and biscuits it was to the cutting and sewing.
Cutting was so easy as the pattern pieces are clearly labelled with how many to cut and where to place pattern piece.
Sewing was a dream, apart from a little topstitching on the pocket, all of the construction was done on the serger (overlocker) and was done in under an hour.
Now for the fit which always makes me nervous as at 6’2” things normally look a bit odd. IT FITS!!!!!!! PERFECTLY!!!!!!
The only problem I have is getting it off him to wash……that’s the biggest compliment I could ever get. He now has an interest in fabric only so he can choose the colours for his next one lol”
Agnes Bobak –
It is a treasure for beginners! Easy and quick success maker! I wish I had this pattern 10 years ago when I had more time to sew to my husband! Thanks Rebecca for this amazing pattern!
Tracey Aslin –

Natalie McCormick –
Overall I think this pattern came together pretty well. I think the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I think it would be beneficial for the sleeve pattern to have a notch at the center to align them with the shoulders better. I think the fit was overall good, I might add a bit of length next time. My husband was happy with fit and will wear it.
Margaret Snow Layman –
This was my first time making a top for my husband and this one was a great first one. It was nice to be able to adjust the size to fit him. The pattern went together easily. The only part I had to show down in was double checking that I sewed the good together correctly. We are both happy and he has put in an order for another one. I may have started something. Thanks for a great pattern!
