Description

This isn’t your regular kind of cross over dress sewing pattern! Just as magical as the Wrap Around Top, and with a few extra options thrown in, the Chrissy Cross Over, like most of the RP patterns, is all about comfort and style.

The cross over is a top AND a dress and the picture-perfect garment for pregnancy, nursing, and non-maternity wear. With the front pieces crossing just under the bust, and creating the “cross over” bit, a separate optional cami adds that extra bit of modesty for those who prefer it.

Skill Level – Beginner

Sizes – Pattern includes ladies’ sizes XXS to 5XL. See the size chart in the gallery above.

ALERT!!! There is finally a pattern for a cross over shirt for busty girls! I repeat, fellow busty ladies you officially have a shirt designed for YOU!! Wahoo! This shirt is the best fitting crossover I’ve ever tried on, let alone made. It’s also one of the easiest patterns to make! I knocked out my second shirt in an hour and fifteen minutes from cutting to finish. It fits like a dream, easy yo make, and has a million iterations….what more could you want?!

This is brilliant as a nursing top! Took me less than 2 hours to make, from print to hem, and love that it keeps me warm while nursing. The built in cami is awesome!

Finally there is a cross over top that is not too revealing for us busty gals! I do not need to wear a top underneath and will not have to worry about it being to showy. Been wearing mine constantly since I finished it. It was a quick and easy sew and I see many more in my future.

There are so many options for this dress, it’s amazing.
The crossover can be ruched, not ruched, short / medium / long sleeves, different hem lengths. Given the style you can use different weights of fabric to create totally different dresses for each occasion. I used a 14 oz. black cotton lycra to make a mini with flat front for date night and a thin rayon spandex with great drape to make a dress for my Grandma’s memorial event.
I was surprised by how easy the dress was, especially the top. I would say it’s great for an adventurous beginner. If you will follow instructions, don’t skip steps and understand a zigzag stitch – YOU CAN TOTALLY MAKE THIS.
