Creating Baby Clothes From T-Shirts

Add to cart

We all have that pile of old t-shirts that we just can’t seem to part with. It’s time to give them new life by repurposing them into rompers for the little ones in your life! In this tutorial, we will run through the steps of drafting your own pattern using your munchkin’s existing clothing as a guide. We will also cover placement of your pattern pieces to make sure you’re getting the most out of your upcycled t-shirt. Last but not least, we will sew the romper together. If you happen to find knits intimidating, fear not! T-shirt fabric is a great way to break into the world of sewing with knits, and a regular sewing machine capable of a zig-zag or stretch stitch can easily be used to assemble the entire pattern. So start gathering those shirts supporting your alma mater, favorite sports team, or music, or just simply those with great graphics or hilarious sayings, and join me!
