Description

Piper is a super cute and comfy childrens paperbag pants sewing pattern. These trousers are slim fitting and practical, taking your kidlet from classroom to playground with ease.

With the high-waisted paperbag option they’re a statement piece and outfit star! Pair with a tucked-in top and sandals for maximum visual impact. Add the tie belt for even more wow. In the shorts or trousers length, the paperbag waist is wardrobe winner, brilliant for summer and winter alike.

With the plain waist option they’re just as lovely! If your kidlet prefers to wear their tops untucked, this plain waist option is perfect.

Simply add sneakers or sandals and the right top to get the look you’re after! Comfy and practical for playground rough and tumble, climbing trees and kicking balls, the classroom, or a fancier-than-normal event!

Skill Level – Perfect for beginner sewistas.

Sizes – Pattern includes children’s sizes newborn to 12 years! See the size chart in the gallery above.

Options – Two length options: short and long, two waistband options: paperbag and plain, optional tie belt and side leg vents.

Ideas – Use a contrasting fabric for the inside of the pockets and tie belt for an extra bit of fun!

Fabrics – The childrens paperbag pants sewing pattern uses medium-weight wovens. If you use a fabric which is stiffer, it will give the pants more structure. Some great suggestions are duchess satin, crepe satin, cotton drill, cotton lawn, linen, denim, taffeta, velvet, wool, cotton or polycotton

If you use a fabric with a print or nap such as velvet, remember to cut all pieces in the same direction and to allow extra fabric for this.

See the fabric requirements in the gallery above for yardage. A serger/ overlocker is optional but NOT required.

Format – This trim-free pattern is a downloadable PDF and comes in A4 or US letter printable sizes. An A0 format (pattern pieces only) is also included should you wish to have your pattern printed professionally. PDF Layers allow you to select and print only the size/s you want.

They are so cute! Love the paperbag waist. Wish the fit on the baby size was a little shorter and more flared in the leg as they look a teeny bit awkward in baby sizing, but love the look on the older girls.
