“I love a cami, they’re such a wardrobe essential and this is a great pattern.”
Kyra Delaney –
I love how quick this pattern is to sew. You can choose to use knit binding or fold over elastic for the top of the camisole and straps and either choice head great instructions.
Becky Petty –
This cami is perfect for laying with all your other favorite RP patterns! It sews up super fast (seriously takes as long to print/assemble/cut as it does to sew!) The straps are a little fiddly if you haven’t done binding before but if you take it slow and follow the detailed instructions, you’ll have a beautifully finished cami in no time! <3
Leanne Miller –
A cami with an option which is very hard to find. I do like that there is the gathered option which will suit many ladies. The longer line of the cami makes is lovely. Quick sew! I would definitely sew this again.
Yulia Shikhova Korinnyi –
Very nice basic pattern. Super easy to follow instructions and love how even the basic pattern has fun options. Thanks Rebecca for one more amazing pattern.
Sabrina Ropp –
This cami is quick and easy to make and great for layering! The optional elastic binding makes it even faster, and the ruched front option is a delightful option for hiding “mom gut” or showing off a baby bump.
Alyssa Finn –
This is a great basic cami for layering or standalone! I love the gathered front option as it gives my layered outfits an appealing alternative to a smooth front (and helps hide my mum tum!). It’s well fitted and doesn’t sag so those gathers stay nice looking during wear.
Kiran Grewal –
Camis are something I can’t do without, they’re a sleeping staple for me. The RP cami comes together in no time at all and the fit is amazing! LOVE ?
Keeley Jones –
I am so happy to have this pattern available! So many times I just need something basic to throw on under a sweater or thin top without being too bulky. After some custom fit adjustments, now I can made loads in every color and design imaginable!
Anna Metcalf –
Such a basic staple for any wardrobe! A quick and easy sew, and hardly uses any fabric!
Aretha Clark –
This is a great beginner pattern. Love the fathered front. Definitely a closet staple
Beth Partian –
I really liked this pattern. I would really like to add a shelf bra option to the pattern as well.
Nikki McCarty –
Love this pattern, it comes together so quickly and easily. As a plus size person, it’s wonderful to have a pattern that actually only uses 1 yard of fabric. I was buying my cami’s before this because I didn’t think it was worth it to make, but this changed my mind!
Chris M Shapiro –
The Strappy Cami is a great addition to my wardrobe. It’s perfect for layering, or a sleep top or the perfect top for the hot and humid southern weather! The tutorial is well written with easy to understand instructions. There are two options, the straight or the rouched option. I found the fit to be spot on and I will be sewing up these in several different colors!
Carina Seth –
The Strappy Cami is a super quick sew with a amazing end result. A perfect staple base garment to layer all of your amazing RP sews upon.

Jackie Henderson –
This is a great little pattern! My girls love their new camisoles and they turned out super cute. As usual, Rebecca’s patterns are super clear and helpful!
Kristin Rohde –
This cami pattern is so quick and easy! I used fold over elastic for the first time, which was a bit of a challenge, but I still completed this cami in about 30 minutes! I can’t wait to make more!
Lisa Bond –
Loved this pattern, made 5 of them!! So practical for Summer or Winter dressy or casual. Whipped them up in no time at all!! Thanks for another great pattern
Dani Arthur –
Such a fast sew! I finally perfected my twin needle and knit binding thanks to this pattern and have a gorgeous and comfortable new pyjama top!! (Worn with Pippa pants for pj bottoms!!)
Elise Vanaman –
Such a cute final product! You can never have too many cami’s!
Hannah Goulter –
This is a great easy maternity and breastfeeding friendly top, definitely a staple in the pregnancy wardrobe
Emily Schimelfenyg –
An easy and relatively quick sew with beautiful results! I love the different options and the fact that it’s nursing and maternity friendly. It’s so nice to not have to hack a pattern for nursing access.
Allison Tierney –
A very easy and flattering pattern! I love that it can be both a casual top and a nice dress.
Leanne Miller –
The strappy cami is great for layering, alone for summer wear and paired with the Pippa pants they make a great PJ set.
Kelly Stokes –
A great top to wear either on it’s own or under other garments. I played around and made a few using both the self binding and fold over elastic options. I had never used FOE before and this was a great introduction. Great for using those slightly bigger scraps as it doesn’t need a huge amount of fabric, specially if you use the elastic option.
Roeshell McNelis –
I love the look of this type of camisole. They are beyond cozy as well! this pattern is easy to follow and the instructions are clear. definitely recommend and I’ll definitely be making more.
Donna Jones –
Oh my! By far the easiest and best fitting cami pattern I’ve found! The length is perfect, coming to around the hip bone. The ruched front is a lovely extra detail for something a bit more of a ‘top’. The straight plain cami version is fantastic for any use, from an undergarment, pyjama top, vest, lining for something sheer, or a strappy cami! I cant fault this. Simply perfect.
Debbie Prince –
Super fast, super easy, super to wear. A wardrobe staple!! Great simple pattern. Love it xx
Vicki Hoggarth-Hall –
I made a cotton lycra strppy top. Pattern comes together well. The straps are nicely added to the top in an easily to understand way. The final top looks professional and so comfy to wear. Its true to size and easy to tailor to the wearer. I will be making more.
Vanja Marolt –
It was an easy sew. I just mistuke one line on the gatthered front pattern and thought I should only gatther up to that line. Well, there was a lot of seam ripping. But other than that it went smoothly.
Lisa Giorcelli –
The strappy cami is perfect for layering in winter and wearing on it’s own in summer! The fit is spot on and the instructions for the binding help you make it look amazing!
Fran Tilden –
This is a very comfortable cami and easy to sew.
Bunford Orsi –
Great summer top. Super easy, super fast sew!!
Alba –
I’ve sewed this pattern in size M no gathered front with cotton fabric. I’ts a really simple and quick sew but, despite this, the result is sooo lovely and it’s a basic for all closets. The most difficult part is the back and front binding but, with the great instructions and pictures it turns to be really intuitive. It’s great to have the step by step instructions with the pattern.
Adelle Pears –
I love a cami, they’re such a wardrobe essential and this is a great pattern. The instructions as usual are excellent and guide you through each step in detail. I thought this was more of an intermediate pattern purely because of the risk of stretching things out when binding. I’ll be making so many of these!
Bracken Thompson –
This is exactly what I have been looking for. I think it will be great for both summer as a top and in winter as underwear with matching knickers. Just my preference though that I will make a smaller size next time because for me the fit is a bit big.
Angel Pooley –
The only difficult, by difficult I mean fiddly bit, was the binding. But it worked up quickly and loved the result
Cindy Matthijssen –
Made my first strappy cami and love it! I made a size XXL according to the measurement chart and got a nice fit! Probably add a little extra length next time for my slightly longer torso, but that’s more a personal preference than an absolute must. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Tania Vervaeke –
Never made a cami before and was a little afraid doing the straps, but everything came together very good.
Charlene Lee –
This pattern is well written and came together quite quickly. Love the clarity of the instructions, My grand daughter loved hers as well. Quick and easy sew!
Deb Carpenter (verified owner) –
The second time making the Strappy Cami and once again I have a simply fabulous top!
I’m a cami pattern fanatic and this is one of the best around!
Vicky Bruner –
love you patterns
Charlene Lee –
The Strappy Cami is an easy sew and I enjoyed making it with the precise and clear instructions . I am sure my grand daughter will want more of these! It has a nice shape and will be a comfortable fit under some of the sheer Floaty Florences.
Grace Elliott –
What a quick, simple pattern! It’s my go-to now for an easy undergarment or coordinating cami.
Jemma Tredinnick –
I found this unexpectedly easy as I usually have limited success with knits. The binding technique was so well explained and worked so well I used it in another project. The top is true to size and the adjustability of the straps is a bonus.
Amanda Cunningham –
This pattern is amazing! The instructions were so easy to follow and made the binding, which seemed scary to me, so easy and a breeze to get done. I love how it fits. It’s not a boxy pattern, so it follows your curves nicely.
Amy Kaczenski –
The perfect layering piece! Easy to assemble, only 2 pattern pieces to print! The binding was a little intimidating but once I got it started, it was so simple and looks great when completed!
Deb Carpenter –
The second fabulous cami top that I’ve made using this pattern – I’m a cami pattern addict, but this is one of the best! Perfect fit and a useful addition to anyone’s pattern library.
Sarah Hopkins –
“I love it! I really struggle to get shop brought clothes to fit so this pattern will be a wardrobe staple for me. Either as layers or a top on its own
I’m also thinking of using it for pyjamas top. Uses very little fabric too!”
Pamela Turner Munnerlyn –
This was a very easy sew. I was able to do it in one day. I love it and will be making more of them. So easy to make and so comfortable to wear. Great to wear in the hot Texas summers.
Tina Pavlic –
I was a bit scared of binding around shirt, but it was just great at the end. Easy and fast and result is perfect 🙂
Samantha Burton –
Simple, fun, and easy to make. The across back binding that turns in to the straps is a little challenging, but saves lots of steps. Can’t wait to make another!
Jocie Goldman –
I love that this cami can be dressed up or dressed down! The fit is perfect for either situation
Carmen Brent –
I was amazed at how quickly this came together. I am glad I tried this pattern, and I intend to make many more strappy camis!
Krystyna Czerwiec –

Jennifer Means –
Overall great and easy pattern. Fit was a little off on me (I could have mismeasured) so I may need to make again to see if I can get that perfect fit. Love the ruching!!
Michele Axmaker Chapman –
Great pattern! Love how easy this pattern comes together. If I wasn’t an experienced seamstress, I could see where the straps/binding could throw me off, but over all easy. Making sure you check length on straps before sewing the final step is important, I myself don’t need long straps
Jamie Adler –
This ivory Strappy Cami is a wonderful addition to my wardrobe. The fit is perfect and the instructions are easy to follow. A few other colors are in my sewing room and are ready to sew!
Malia Pope –
Great basic pattern. Comes together very easily.
Jennifer Schonhaar –
This was so easy and fun. I did an extra large which I measured for, but in hindsight the next time I make one I’ll do an extra large for the front and a large or even medium for the back. My back is narrow compared to my breasts. So the back was too large and I had to make a couple of sideways pleats where I attached the straps. This was my first time working with FOE. I enjoyed that. Although now I’d like to try it with fabric binding also. The instructions were all clear and simple.
Tricia Nguyen –
The Strappy Cami is such a great sew for summer wear! Bonus, it is a great use for those scraps you can’t bear to throw out. I love the fact that you can wear it alone or layered with something like a cute cardigan.
Nicki Hibbits –
The Strappy Cami is another favorite! The pattern pieces were quick and easy to cut out and sew. Putting on the straps wasn’t complicated but required patience and taking time to get everything turned and in place. I can see making several of these for wardrobe staples.
