The best part of this pattern is the pockets! They take some time and care, but they are drafted perfectly and really add to the vintage look.
Shaina Mack –
This pattern is wonderful! I made the shorts version with welt pockets. It was my first time making welt pockets and first time making a pair of woven fitted bottoms but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I love these shorts and will definitely be making more of them!
Loraine Wilkinson –
Great pattern easy to follow step by step.
Frieda Flavianu –
Such a classic design with with a vintage look. All pattern pieces came together perfectly with a simplified perfect construction method, with True finished garment mearsurements. I learned how to construct a welt pocket and fell inlove with the end result. I love my vintage Trousers, my first ever fitted trouser. I will definitely be making more of these trousers. RP you did it again, such a classic design with with a vintage look.
Roeshell Arjin McNelis –
I was greatly intimidated by this pattern, but I went for it anyways, and I really liked the final product!! They’re a fitted style and honestly I’ve never had pants fit quite right but this fit pretty well, I’m impressed!!
Angel Pooley –
I love this pattern. The first time doing a welt pocket and the instructions made it so much easier to understand! Only the second time doing an invisible zipper too! Thanks!
Queri Alexander –
I was looking for a smart trousers pattern that could be made with formal and casual prints for work and special occasions, The vintage Trousers Pattern from RP ticks all the boxes. This pattern sews up true to size, can be made into shorts and suits a range of fabrics and designs. I will be making use of this pattern for work wear as well as smart casual and special occasion wear and for so much versatility, the pattern is great value for money.
Sally Jacobs –
Fab pattern, measured at the lowest end of the sizing (actually between M and L but still fitted well without adjustments.
Lisa Giorcelli –
I made the shorts version and they are awesome! They are super flattering to my mum-tum and soo comfy! The fit was spot-on, all I had to do was add a tiny amount to the front rise for my personal fit. I will definitely be making more of these!
Stephanie Carnovale –
These pants have the most flattering fit. I have made 2 so far but my daughters have put in orders for more of them. They look really classy
Deb Carpenter –
“I made the shorts version of the Vintage Trousers as I was in desperate need of shorts for the warmer months. I made the shorts in 100% cotton fabric, size XL throughout.
I’m so pleased with the finished garment! The fit is amazing with no modifications necessary to the pattern (for me), they literally fitted ‘straight out of the packet’
I was a little intimidated by the invisible zip as although I’m a seasoned sewsita, I have a hatred for invisible zips. I needn’t have worried – I followed the instructions to the letter and this is the best invisible zip I’ve ever installed.
I’ve made the Pippa Pants previously, again without any fitting modifications to the pattern, so I believe I’ve found my perfect pants/trouser pattern company. There will be more!
Thank you Rebecca Page Patterns! “
Bracken Thompson –
I really like this pattern. I made some work trousers from suiting fabric. I did read reviews first from other readers and due to my being 5 foot 7 inches tall ( 170cm) I added 3cm to the length. This came out as perfect for me. I will be using the pattern again.
Hughes Papaleo Tomorrow –
Super quick super simple pattern that yields a classy, beautiful, and timeless garment that is sure to wow!
Jennifer Lichak –
These are the new trend in shorts! Featuring a high waist, indivisible zip, optional welt pockets and wide legs. Flattering and trendy!!
Tania Watson –
The finish of these trousers are great. Perfect for someone to advance their sewing skills with invisible zip and the option of welt pockets.
Luana Furlanetto –
I made the short version of these trousers. I really like the final result and how flattering they are. Although we are talking about pants, it doesn’t take very long to put them together. I think the most difficult part for me was having the print matching. It would have take me way less time if I would have picked a solid fabric.
Jenny Gomez –
I love that the fit includes how to measure and adjust the rise. This is the best fit I’ve ever gotten because I’m so tall!
Emily Anderson –
I like my new shorts! The fit is great, and the welt pockets are fun. As it was my first time doing welt pockets, I did have a bit of difficulty with them, but I think they turned out alright. I think that they might look and lie better if they were parallel with the waistband. The option for single welts would be nice too! Overall, I think this is a great pattern, and I can’t wait to make another pair!
Robin Foote –
ou have such thorough explanations of terms, methods, etc even as an experienced sewist I learn from your instructions.
Cassandra Morris –
Super comfy and chic – you can’t go wrong with these trousers! Well worth the effort to tailor them to the perfect fit.
Khirya Littoria –
Quick to sew and comfortable to wear. Very chic!
Chantal van Drunen-Ezendam –
What stands out most about these trousers is not the outside, but the inside. Using french seams, biais binding and a blind zipper gives these trousers a superb finishing. Add to that a cool cut that has a retro vibe and you have the perfect trousers. Depending on the fabric you use, you can create lots of different styles with just one pants pattern, from formal to beach wear.
Corrine Smith –
Such an easy sew. Instructions are clear and zipper is easy to install. Love this pattern.
Malia Pope –
The sizing was pretty spot on for my measurements. I always have to adjust the crotch curve in pants but this pattern is more forgiving. Straight forward sew if not adding pockets.
Liz Faber –
I’m pretty sure that I was born in the wrong decade so when I saw these trousers I had to make them – and I found the perfect fabric: bright, bold, vintage pictures!
The instructions were slightly harder but the photos definitely made it easier. This was only my second ever invisible zip and it worked perfectly! The end result is trousers that are comfortable, fun and funky!
Salome Goncalves –
Short-length and without pockets is a quick sew. I had never sewn shorts or pants before but I could follow the instructions and the final product looks good!
Debbie Groves –
I made the shorts version, no pockets, making it such an easy sew! Fits great too!
Debbie Groves –
Perfect wardrobe staple! Easy and quick to make! Super flattering! And pairs well with modern and vintage clothing pieces!
Tiina Norrkniivilä –
Take your time to read tutorial, as there are a few tricky parts to this pattern. Remember also to pick a lining that suits the stretch of you main fabric. The legs are long, so they’ll work for both taller and shorter persons. A nice model that feels comfortable and looks good! 🙂
Sandy Simpson –
Wow. I have found the pants I have been looking for. The shape of these pants is perfect for accentuating curves. The cut is perfect and they are easy to fit. Perfect.
Leanne Molini –
My Vintage Trousers will be now know as my little black dress trousers. They are super easy and quick to wip up, with out the pockets.
Genevieve Lynne Grossmann –
These a fantastic trousers. I made the shorts and the fit is perfect. I will be making more for these and I cannot wait to try the trousers.
Lauren Clark Hill –
These fit like a glove! It was the first time I had braved the daunting task of making fitted pants and I’m so glad I did. I learned so much about how to fit my body and ended up with a pair of shorts that are better than any pair I’ve ever bought at the store with no annoying back waistband gap!
Nadia Cadby –
Such a classy pattern, I’ve made the shorts version though did have to lengthen as I’m 5’10 but they are super comfortable and the sizing is true, I didn’t have to adjust the rise at all and they are so stylish. I can’t wait to make a pair of the trousers with welt pockets. Thanks RP for such a fabulous pattern.
Donna Lowe –
I am so in love with this trousers. It’s vintage meets modern. There is no more to say. It is absolutely PERFECT!
Dési Rée –

Peggy Pazera Cooke –
I love the fit and high waisted design of these! So far I’ve made shorts but can’t wait to make a lovely pair of wide legged trousers.

What a great pattern. My daughter loves her pants and the directions are so easy to follow.
Deepthi Gunasheker –
Very quick and easy sew. Don’t have to deal with zipper fly for that classy look!!!
Alisha Sparks Adams –

Florence Gbede –
I love your cuttings and sewing so well
Grace Elliott –
I love my Vintage Trouser Shorts! This pattern was WAY easier than I’d anticipated, and after doing my normal basting to fit, they are perfect. The pattern is so easy to make fit changes because the basic shapes are easy to identify and modify if necessary. My husband was on the fence when I told him I was sewing some super high waisted shorts, but once he saw them on, he was sold. He said they’re very flattering. I’m excited to make more shorts as well as some with trouser length!
Nali Nali –
Vintage Trouser/ Shorts is so classy. Didn’t think I’ll look good in the high-waist cutting but now I’m totally in love with this design. The welt pocket is so fun to learn, thanks to the easy to follow instructions. The fit is good too with only some slight adjustment. Thank you Rebecca Page for the amazing pattern!
Jemma Tredinnick –
These are really elegant trousers with a lovely high waist and very well fitting. The welt pockets add to the luxurious feel but are optional. I made mine in a thick bit drapery fabric for some winter flow. Quite easy to sew but the key is in the fitting… Definitely make a muslin!
Abby Villarreal –
“This was a quick sew, even with the full seat adjustment I had to make in the back rise of the pants. The pattern instructions include a quick tutorial on how to do a partial adjustment, but I had to refer to other information to do a full seat adjustment.
The fabric choices allow for many different looks to be created with this pattern. The fabric I used had a slight mechanical stretch crosswise, so it was quite forgiving in places where the pants might otherwise be slightly too snug if the fabric was not stretchy.”
