- If you are not attaching safety eyes, you can embroider these on using embroidery floss (e.g. DMC, Anchor).
- Embroidery Floss for the nose and mouth
- OPTIONAL Bow Tie - 1/16 inch wide elastic cord. You will need 11 inches.
- OPTIONAL Fusible Webbing - This can be added to the inner ears and nose. You will need approximately 3.5 x 1.5 inches maximum.
- Soft Toy Filling - you will need approximately 3.5 - 6 ounces / 100 - 170 grams. This will depend on the age of the child you are sewing this for. The younger the child, the smaller the pjs, and so the more stuffing you can add. The older the child, the larger the pjs, and so the less stuffing you will need.
- Thread to match
- Buttons or Snaps - for Men's sizes XXS-4XL and Women's sizes XXS-5XL: approximately 1 inch / 25mm wide x5. For sizes 12mos-12yrs: approximately 3/4 inch / 20mm wide. Sizes 12-24 months x3, sizes 2-4 years x4, sizes 5-12 years x6.
- 1-inch-wide Elastic for all sizes - approximately 1 1/2 yards will be sufficient for all sizes.
- Iron on interfacing - light to medium weight, depending on your fabric choice. Approximately 1 yard will be sufficient for all sizes.
- OPTIONAL Ready-made piping - 0.12 inches / 3mm wide. Approximately 3 yards will be sufficient for all sizes. If you are using 100% cotton piping remember to prewash along with your fabric as it can shrink.
- 1/2 inch wide Single Fold Bias Tape - approximately .75 yards will be sufficient for all sizes. This will be used for binding the back of the neck.

The trim-free pattern comes in A4 or US letter printable sizes and includes full pattern pieces and a detailed tutorial to guide you every step of the way. The idea of the bear is really cute. I feel the bear could be larger overall. I feel the zipper could be stitched into the back of the bear before the bear is stitched together. As a consumer I would be disappointed that I would have to hand-stitch the zipper into the bear. If the overall size is enlarged, the head of the bear may be able to be rounded out slightly.

“When I made the top for the PJ’s I found it to be a bit challenging and more geared toward an Advanced Beginner to Intermediate sewist. Watch out for the collar and the facing construction here. It can be a little tricky.
The bottoms are super easy to make.

“Loved making these for grandkids, for littlest I had to make a mix of 2 sizes as the sizing was a bit out (I believe that this will be fixed by the time it’s available), so top was 5-6, bottoms 3-4 which were a perfect fit. I made mine in brushed (winceyette/flannelette) fabric which is ideal for this time of year, and easy to sew with. For my next pair, if I decide to add a chest pocket to the top, I’d do after sewing button holes, as it got in the way and jammed the attachment on my machine.
Looking forward to making more and also some spring/ summer ones in a thinner fabric for them – when they tried them on they asked their mam if all their PJs could be Nana made ”

So. Much. FUN!! I made coordinating sets for my niece and nephew and they loved them so much they wanted to leave my house wearing them (it was 3pm in the afternoon!). The pattern was easy to follow–I liked how they gave the options for the piping and the pockets.
