I love, love, Love this Sports Bag. I am always looking for a well made carry all but nothing has held up, until now. I know I will enjoy making both sizes and even giving them as gifts. THIS is a Great bag!
Pam OFlynn –
The Toiletry Bag is the itty bitty duffle pattern you’ve been waiting for! Perfect mate for the Sports Bag to complete your set. Instructions are very easy to follow with lots of photos. Love this pattern!
Jenny Gomez –
The drop in liner and the round sides were a bit fiddly, but love the final product
Pamela Stump –
Take it slow and easy and follow the directions (the photos really help on this one!) and even a beginner can make this bag. I used a drapery weight cotton for the outer fabric, pellon SF101 interfacing, and quilting cotton for the straps and lining. A narrow press-on fusible (Wonder Under or similar) makes quick work of lining up all the layers for the zipper! This bag was bigger than I expected – it’s big enough for a curling iron, hair brush, and all your travel toiletries.
(Note, coordinates well with the Rebecca Page Duffel Bag.)
Amelia Keating –
A challenging sew, but I learned a lot, and I love the final product!
Karla Henrichs –
This was pretty easy. The end pieces around the zipper, were tricky. It gets pretty thick there and I had some trouble getting the machine to sew there. I thought this was fun to make. Directions were very good.
Pam OFlynn –
The Sports Bag is the duffle pattern you’ve been waiting for! No drop in linings, multiple options for pockets, two sizes and there is a matching Toiletry Bag! Instructions are very easy to follow with lots of photos. Love this pattern!
Shelley Clark –
This is such a great pattern. The instructions were super easy to follow.
Nichole Merren –
I’m so thrilled with this pattern!! I can’t believe I made a large bag with zipper pockets! Learned a lot as an adventurous beginner sewist and I cannot wait to make more!
Katie Weatherly –
I enjoyed this sew. It came together over the course of a couple of days and was ready for a weekend adventure.
Kelle Lujan –
I have only ever made a simple tote so I was excited to try this bag. It seemed like a lot of steps, but none of them were complicated. Zipper insertion was fairly straightforward and the end result is so impressive. I loved all the different pocket options available and decided to try one of each. As soon as I was done, my husband asked if I could make him a bag, but smaller. My youngest daughter came in and asked, “Is that for me?” And then my oldest showed up and said “Hey, what’s the bag for? I could use a new bag….” So I guess it’s popular! It seems I’ll be making at least two more in the near future.
Debbie Prince –
Love this bag so much. Was really simple to make and inserting a zip on the side was super simple with the instructions. Very happy and looking forward to using my bag on my next weekend away xx
Terri Shaver –
Great pattern! I don’t think it necessarily needs all the fusible fleece, but it does look nice!
Adawiyah Hairuni –
I’m happy with the size! I’m always scared to sew zipppers but I started to love sewings bags because of Rebecca’s patterns. Instructions is easy to follow. I see more duffle bags’ sewing in the future.

Interfacing, interfacing, interfacing! Lol. This is a really great pattern, and isn’t too complicated to put together. I feel like I spent as much time applying the interfacing as I did constructing the bag. Some of the more difficult areas are sewing through the multiple layers, sewing the curve, and just navigating a large pieces around your sewing machine. But the pattern itself has great instructions to guide you through each zipper, pocket, strap and bit of construction. I love how the finished bag looks- and was pleasantly surprised at the smaller size being large enough to be useful for an overnight trip.
Monaco –
I don’t do accessories very often, so this was a different, but easy project to complete. I did choose to make it without any of the extras (Pockets, interfacing, ect.) as I wanted a soft bag that I could easily fold and stuff into a small space. I chose cotton quit fabric for the outside and used an old cotton sheet for my lining and the ends. A regular zipper brought this together.
I think that this was a good pattern overall, the large size is definitely big enough for your pillow, blanket and pj’s. I did notice again though, the lack of notches…These would be particularly helpful in the placement of both the round ends, and the strap placements. Other than this, any beginner could handle this project, and it will make for some easy gifts in the future.

This is a versatile pattern with many optional features, you can have a number of zip pockets on the outside as well as slip pockets on the inside. It is a useful bag that can be used for a whole range of things, it is the perfect size to carry your towel, swimsuit etc for a visit to the pool or beach. It will take your trainers and kit for a vist to the gym but it is also the perfect size for an overnight bag. It is a pattern that will help you build on your bag making skills.
Pamela Stump –
Take it slow and easy and follow the directions (the photos really help on this one!) and even a somewhat confident beginner can make this bag. I used a drapery weight cotton for the outer fabric, pellon SF101 interfacing, packaged fleece interfacing, and quilting cotton for the straps, pockets, and lining. A narrow press-on fusible (Wonder Under or similar) makes quick work of lining up all the layers for the zipper pockets! If you are a beginner, try the slat pockets inside and the zipper pockets on the inside ends. They will be easier to sew on the lining layer with just interfacing, than on the outside layer with the fleece. If you are confident and not scared of a challenge, the outer zippered pockets look great!
(Note, coordinates well with the Rebecca Page Toiletry Bag.)
Julie McKinley –
Great bag! Lots of pocket options! The medium size is plenty big enough for “big feet” shoes and all the extras needed for practice/game days!
Erin McKinney –
Great bag for the gym or overnight. I love all the options for pockets! It does take time to sew up if you make all the zipper pockets, but totally worth it!
Erica Oswalt –
I really enjoyed this pattern! It’s something useable, fun, and relatively easy to sew. There were a few moments that I got a little frustrated with the directions, but I think those moments were bought out of hasty sewing. All-in-all, this is a great pattern with high potential for gifts!!!
Rachel Loper –
I can’t accurately put into words how much I love this bag. The small size is HUGE; MORE than enough room to hold a change of clothes and equipment. Also, I love anything that has pockets and you have the option of adding ALL. OF. THE. POCKETS. Did I mention yet how much I love this bag?
Luana Furlanetto –
This sew has been more challenging than what I expected. However, the beautiful result was worth the effort!
Yolonde Bates –
I really enjoyed sewing this pattern. I did not find any problems with the pattern. I just followed instructions effortlessly.
Daph Né Geeraerd –
It’s a fun and quiet easy sew. You can make your own personalised bag to go on a romantic weekend or to the gym ;-).
Laura Wheelis –
I made the medium and it is so roomy!! Can’t wait to make another for a gift!
Suzi Nasoor –
Love the instructions which give a professional finish to the bag..overall all went well.

This is a easy sewing project. Bag measured 30cm long and is so convenient to come along. Just love it.
Charlene Lee –
This is a quick and easy pattern that makes a great gift! The zipper is full length of the bag making it easy to get things in and out.
Christine Burrows –
This toiletry bag is so much fun to make and the resulting bag is so cute. It is roomy enough for all your needs but looks adorable. Great for storing craft supplies too! This is not just a toiletry bag, it could have so many uses.
Salomé Huq –
Such an easy pattern to follow! This is also a generously sized toiletry bag, it holds so much… It’s perfect for the gym or travelling, and it’s so cute it also works as a gift!
Tina Marie Baber –
I sewed the Toiletry Bag. I found the pattern to be very Beginner Friendly. The instructions are easily understood and the pattern pieces are marked and easily read. I really enjoyed making the toiletry bag. I will be making several to be give for Christmas with little surprises inside for the recipient. This was a very fun and enjoyable sew. Thank You RP for your wonderful patterns.
Cindy Goldstein –
Fast sew and very cute. Perfect size for all your travel needs such as oral and hair care. Gauge your use of interfacing based on the weight of fabric you use.
Salomé Goncalves –
Very easy to sew and what a cute toiletry bag!
It’s large enough to be for more than just toiletries, in a soft fabric it can hold your delicates while traveling or a quick change of clothes for a child.
I love it 🙂
Torgunn Myklebust –
I like the size on this gym bag. Fun to sew, Next time I Will put om more pocket.
This time I use fabric from a old coach, and reuse straps and handle from old bag.
Tina Marie Baber –
Pattern was Beginner Friendly. The instruction were written clearly and easy to follow even for someone just beginning to sew. The pattern Pieces were clearly marked and easy to put together. This was a fun and easy sew. I will be making more to give as gifts. Love this one. Thank You Rebecca Page
Shelby Chubb –
Without any background in bag construction, I would rate this more advanced beginner or intermediate. I love the end result and am very glad that I used less precious fabric on my first run through. The overall look and function is great, especially with all the accessory options! Looking forward to cutting into the really good stuff for the next run because I’ve been hoarding it too long. Although it was a bit of a struggle, I’m pleased with my new skills and knowledge.
