You will also need:
Yarn –
- Acrylic, or an acrylic blend is the recommended fiber for this pattern. This will be a warm and soft yarn for next to the skin. The pieces are made and stitched together, with 10 ply acrylic aran/worsted weight.
- NOTE - The details listed below, give details of the weight and yardage, as sold. However, you will need approximately 150g of yarn for the small and medium sizes and approximately 200g for the large size.
- We have suggested colors to use. If you would like to use the same colors follow the information listed below and throughout the tutorial. If you would like to use different colors, feel free to do so.
- Crochet hook: 8/ 5 mm
- Large eyed needle or safety pin for inserting the drawstring
- Darning and sewing needles

I know how to crochet, and at times I even enjoy it, but let’s be honest designs where the guage matters, and there’s different stitches is sometimes frustrating. I found this pattern pleasant to stitch though. There were great directions for the newbie, and a quick guide for the more experienced. It was fun diving into my yarn stash and pulling out some remnants from previous projects. My husband absolutely adores the finished hood, declaring it “super cute” and smiling everytime he sees it. I enjoyed learning a new stitch combination that created a really nice texture to the main hood. I did it mostly in a day, though household duties pulled me away from finishing it that first night. After my first one I did attempt to make one with a furry yarn…. Oh it would have been so cute, but that yarn is clearly of the devil and I have no idea how anyone could use it. Lol. Just be aware if you want to use some fun specialty yarns- you will need to be able to count your stitches, skip stitches, and see where a stitch is.
