Sewing the Dolls

How about we dive right in, and sew up the softy doll(s) first? The Dolls House Quiet Book pattern includes 3 dolls to choose from. Aren’t they the cutest things EVER?! They are super simple to make, and super soft to cuddle with. Sew 1, or sew up the whole family. It’s totally up to you![/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”27442″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][vc_column_text]Some of the lovely ladies in the newly developed Rebecca Page Brand Ambassador team, were ever-so generous with their time to sew and test out this pattern. Their talent and creativity is astounding! And, their thoughts and suggestions made it possible to put out the best pattern possible. Throughout this sew along, we will be showing you some of their amazing ideas for inspiration.

With that said, check out the softy dolly family Brand Ambassador, Cristy Barnes, whipped up. The vibrant colors are so playful, and those flamingos are so cute! They are sure inspire hours of whimsical pretend play.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”28845″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][vc_column_text]Feel free to play around with different materials for your dolls, too! Try using a minky fabric for a furry look. As an added bonus, the super soft feel will give your dolls even more snuggle potential.

Sewing the Pages

Once you have your doll(s) finished, let’s move on to the Book pages. The pages will be your “canvas” on which your Dolls House will take shape.

Follow the pattern directions to attach the roof to the outside pages of your Dolls House. It’s pretty simple and should take no time. Visit my Day 2 blog post for some embellishment ideas for this step! 😉

Then, we apply the batting. If you’ve never worked with batting before, fear not! The pattern instructions are easy to follow, and make it quite simple. In fact, once you have the batting attached, it creates an ideal surface for sewing on the accessories (tomorrow’s task). However, if you don’t happen to have any batting handy, it can be substituted with fusible fleece instead (follow manufacture’s instructions to apply).[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”27416″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][vc_column_text]
