What do you enjoy most about working at RP?

It’s a young, vibrant company, full of potential and great ideas for the future.

Can you tell us a little bit about how you got into your line of work that lead you to RP?

My background is in market research, specifically in brand research. So when I invested in RP through Arcangels I could see this was an area I’d like to bring something to the table.

What is your favourite RP pattern?

Love the Piper Paperbag Pants.

Describe a typical day in your life.

Now I’ve retired from working in market research the best thing is that there’s no such thing as a typical day!

Tell us a bit about your style.

I like fashion but try to go for modern classics rather than just this season’s look.

Where are you from? And where do you currently live?

I’m from Auckland, New Zealand, and that’s where I live most of the time – with frequent visits to our holiday home in Queenstown

How long have you been sewing and how did you start?

My mum used to sew a lot of my clothes so she was my inspiration but I started to learn properly at school nearly 50 years ago.

If you had one wish (not necessarily sewing related) what would it be?

I’d love to be musical – though I’m seriously not!

What’s your super power?

Still waiting for that

What’s the super power you really want?

Time travel would be good!

Can you please share some go-to fail-safe tips for beginner sewistas?

Many a badly sewn seam can be saved by the iron

Describe your perfect Sunday.

Sleep in, brunch with friends, walk by the water, home to sew.

If you were stranded on a desert island, which historical figure would you want with you?

Nelson Mandela – he survived 27 years in prison so a desert island would be no problem.

What’s the sound of your favourite colour?

The silky sound of luxury.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?

What do you wish you knew more about?

My fellow human beings.
