Jhett Koo is the Digital & Analytics Advisor at RP, providing insights and recommendations through analysis of website, digital marketing and order transactions data. He brings over 5 years of experience in diverse roles ranging from designing predictive algorithms, to leading a digital marketing team, to supporting launches into international markets. In 2018, he won his category at the ModelOff Financial Modelling World Championships in London. Jhett graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Statistics, a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics, and has passed the CFA Level 1 Exam.

Can you tell us a little bit about how you got into your line of work that lead you to RP?
I’ve had experience in various roles across finance, growth, digital marketing and data science at other start-ups Janine has been involved in.
Describe a typical day in your life.
Wake up, brew a pour-over coffee, then start my day job as a Data Scientist working on interesting and varied projects! In the evening I would head to the gym or go for a run, cook dinner, shower, then work late on side projects, study or just relax with a book or watch Netflix.

Minimalist, with mostly black, white and navy.
Where are you from? And where do you currently live?
I’m from New Zealand and currently living in Melbourne.
If you had one wish (not necessarily sewing related) what would it be?
Lifelong mental and physical health.

Brunch with friends, see a new exhibition at an art gallery, go for a long run outside, then get dinner at a local restaurant.
If you were stranded on a desert island, which historical figure would you want with you, and why?
Thomas Edison – we could invent something to either get off the island or improve our survival odds and living conditions if escape is not possible.
What’s the sound of your favourite colour?
The gentle lapping of waves at a beach on a clear summer’s night.
