What do you enjoy most about working at RP?

I really love the people. Such a friendly and fun atmosphere!

Can you tell us a little bit about how you got into your line of work that lead you to RP?

I am a stay at home mom and started sewing after my first son. After a couple years I found the wonderful world of testing patterns! RP was my first pattern test!

What qualifications do you have/ courses completed?

I am a self taught seamstress. I have a shop on Etsy which offers handmade clothing and accessories.  And I also have been testing patterns for many companies for the past few years.

What is your favourite RP pattern?

Oh this is such a hard question! I have so many! I’ll say Dreamy drape for now?

Describe a typical day in your life.

Typical day for me is I wake up early every morning to get me time and some coffee time before I wake the kids! I am a stay at home mom so I spend majority cooking, cleaning, and running around with my crazies ❤ I have a nap time/ quiet time and that is when I sew sew sew away! Then in the evenings is sports, sports, sports and I may get to work out. Sometimes I sew after kids go to bed but I’m usually exhausted and enjoy a show or two. Every day really fluctuates with me but I always make time for quiet time so Mama can sew.

Tell us a bit about your style.

Hmmm… I love boho chic with a little edgy sometimes. Obsessed with Vintage style and like a good t-shirt and Jean’s casual. So all over the place?

Where are you from? And where do you currently live?

I grew up about an hour outside of Chicago, in a then small town called Oswego.

I now live is St. Louis, Mo and absolutely love it here ❤

How long have you been sewing and how did you start?

I have been sewing for about 10 years. Fashion and design was always a big part of my life. Always had a passion but never pursued. Until I became a SAHM to my first child, getting married, and moving halfway across the US I took a couple basic sewing classes to help me adjust to my new life. Naturally fell in love and have been teaching myself since then, sewing sewing sewing away!

If you had one wish (not necessarily sewing related) what would it be?

I wish we could get a house big enough for our family and my own sewing studio attached! On a few acres of land would be nice!

What’s your superpower?

My kids say sewing, husband says smelling power of a bear, and I would say napping! I can nap anywhere or any time of day!

What’s the superpower you really want?

Oohhh I would love to have the power to know and understand all languages!

Can you please share some go-to fail-safe tips for beginner sewistas?

Take your time. Try, try, try again and don’t give up! In the beginning I made so many mistakes but taught me patience and perseverance. And reach out for help when needed ❤

Describe your perfect Sunday.

My perfect Sunday is getting up and making some homemade pancakes with sausage and getting help cleaning up, oh and lots of coffee! Off to church with my family then enjoy a lunch out. Have a relaxing and quiet afternoon with no rush for dinner. Put kids to bed early and have a nice relaxing evening with the hubby ❤
