What do you enjoy most about working at RP?

I love the enthusiasm, creativity and empowerment that comes through everything RP is about. I love that RP is imagining wholesome ways for the personalized fashion space to thrive.

Can you tell us a little bit about how you got into your line of work that lead you to RP?

Early stage investing opportunity was the reason I got acquainted with Rebecca Page and I saw lots of reasons to believe in the team and their mission.  I’ve been investing for 12 years in brave people pursuing their dreams and this time there was a strong intuition that I wanted to be part of the journey Rebecca and Janine had in mind.

What qualifications do you have/ courses completed?

Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence focus some 20 years ago, before it was everywhere!) from University of Colorado in the US, Masters in Business Administration from IMD in Switzerland.

What is your favourite RP pattern?

Paris Day Dress.

Describe a typical day in your life.

Hard to find a typical routine – between four children of school age, 3 startup boards and two investment committees, research studies towards a PhD program at University of Auckland …

Tell us a bit about your style.

I will do elegant and classy for the office, but otherwise, jeans, Allbirds, and a form-fitting jacket is my uniform.

Where are you from? And where do you currently live?

Born and raised in Romania, I have lived and worked in the US, France, and Switzerland before moving to New Zealand (my husband is a Kiwi).

How long have you been sewing and how did you start?

I don’t sew. But I do know when garments are well made.

If you had one wish (not necessarily sewing related) what would it be?

That my children are growing into wonderful people, healthy and safe.

What’s your super power?

Planning travels.

What’s the super power you really want?
Teletransportation.

Describe your perfect Sunday.

Wake up late and head out to a West Coast beach for a long walk in the wind before brunch with the family. Afternoon laze and then early dinner plans with the kids cooking something surprising before Country Calendar is on.

If you were stranded on a desert island, which historical figure would you want with you?

Monet. I’d love to watch impressionist paintings come alive.

What’s the sound of your favourite colour?

Echo-ing.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

Write.

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning medal for?

Languages.

What do you wish you knew more about?

Plants and planting.
