What do you enjoy most about working at RP?
Freedom to voice my opinions, friendliness of all team members, supportive and great team work.
Can you tell us a little bit about how you got into your line of work that lead you to RP?
I’m a self-taught textile artist; I wanted to broaden my skills in clothing and by chance I stumbled upon a tester call and I applied. I had no knowledge of pdf patterns. That was way back in 2016 and here I am with fancy sewing skills and an awesome wardrobe thanks to Rebecca.
What qualifications do you have/ courses completed?
Degree in Business Management and level 4 in French
What is your favourite RP pattern?
That’s a tough one. Pippa Pants, Stevie Skirt, all the jackets .. 🤷♀️
Tell us a bit about your style.
I love vibrant colour and textures. I like wearing sarees with my pottu, jewellery and kajal.
Where are you from? And where do you currently live?
I live in Pattiveeranpatti in southern India
How long have you been sewing and how did you start?
I have been sewing from when I was probably 12 years. I got my first Barbie Doll and my mom got me just a dress for it and said “the rest it’s up to you”. And that’s how I started; making clothes and bags for my doll .
If you had one wish (not necessarily sewing related) what would it be?
Live and let live
What’s your super power?
Jumping to conclusions 🤷♀️🤦🏻♀️
Can you please share some go-to fail-safe tips for beginner sewistas?
Enjoy the process. If you are going to search for what will go wrong or how to avoid it, you will miss the joys of sewing .
If you were stranded on a desert island, which historical figure would you want with you .
I would like to meet Mahakavi Subramanyia Bharathiyar. He is one of the greatest Tamil literary figures of all time and is considered as a pioneer of Tamil literature. He actively fought for women’s basic rights in modern India.
What’s the sound of your favourite colour?
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
Sew, weave, spin yarn, write, read.. learn something new
