Kids will absolutely love these cute and cozy little pillows from this free animal pillow sewing pattern!

These fun, easy to make pillows are the perfect size to use fat quarters, or material left over from other projects. Embroidered (or painted) facial features mean these pillows remain cozy to snuggle with.  These pillows close up with a ladder stitch for a clean finish. Not sure how to sew a ladder stitch? Fear not! This tutorial will show you how it’s done.

This tutorial is only a baseline to start with. Get creative! Play around with different facial features. Embellish your pillows with ribbon or lace. Use yarn to give them hair or add a bow. Make them look like zombies (for the boys!). Whatever your heart desires!

Pattern pieces included to make the following animals – Bird, Bunny, Butterfly and Kitty.

What you’ll need:

  • Quilting cotton (or any other woven fabric similar in weight) is perfect for this project
  • Poly-Fill (stuffing)
  • Optional: Ribbon, lace, embroidery floss or fabric paint (for facial features)

Hi there! I am a wife and stay-at-home Mom of 4 beautiful children (1 little girl, with 3 older brothers!). I have always enjoyed sewing and creating beautiful things, with a penchant for up-cycling. I eat, sleep and breath sewing (my husband thinks I may have a problem, lol!) I am always trying to learn and grow as a seamstress, and being a pattern tester has introduced me to so many new techniques that I might have otherwise neglected to try! In addition to pattern testing, I have recently been writing tutorials and contributing to online magazines and pattern designers' websites. And nowadays, when I'm not sewing and creating, I am illustrating. That's right! My husband and I started a small series of children's books. Phew! I'm exhausted. And, happy <3 And, I love that I can share my passion for creating here with you 😉 Let's stay in touch! Follow me on my blog at: https://annasheirloomboutique.com/

PATTERN TESTING

Every pattern we make has been tried & tested first by our team, then by specially selected pre-testers, then by a group of up to 50 different sewers of different abilities, ages, sizes, shapes, body types, and experience levels.

We literally spend hours designing, testing and checking the pattern to make sure it works and the instructions are easy to follow. Hopefully you’ll love the end result as much as we do! But, if for any reason you don’t, please get in touch so we can help.

PRODUCT SALES & LICENSING INFORMATION

This pattern can be used to make beautiful little garments for personal use, or can be made in limited quantities to sell. You can only sell the finished product; you cannot sell the pattern or these instructions. We’d love you to include a credit to www.rebecca-page.com as the pattern designer when you make garments from the pattern to sell, but it’s up to you. If you don’t, that’s ok too.

THIS IS A DOWNLOAD-ONLY PATTERN

As soon as you have paid you will receive a link to download the pattern, so you can get started immediately if you like. Note, this is a digital, download-only pattern. You will not receive a physical copy in the post.
