Pattern Details

Introducing the Kingston Jacket, a dolls denim jacket pattern.

This beautifully-finished, dolls jacket pattern has 5 sleeve options: Classic 2 piece long sleeves, half angel sleeves, trumpet sleeves, full bell sleeves and ¾ bell sleeves. There are also optional side seam pockets and optional front pockets with flaps.

You can either use a serger for a quick finish, or instructions are included for an all traditional denim jacket finish with hidden seams on a sewing machine.

The techniques used are advanced beginner upwards, but the pattern instructions are very thorough with lots of tips so anyone can follow them.

The jacket is designed for denim. However, any medium weight woven fabric will work, and many heavier weight woven fabrics will work too. Great options are: denim, stretch denim, bull denim, low-pile corduroy, cotton canvas, twill, or even an old pair of jeans up-cycled.

The pattern is trim-free, comes in A4 or US letter size, and has layers in the PDF so you can print only the size/s you want. There is also an A0 format (pattern pieces only) in case you’d like to take it to a professional printer.

Suitable for woven fabrics only (not suitable for knits/stretch fabric). Serger/overlocker optional but NOT required.

This is the dolls version but it’s also available as a matching ladies and childs patterns so you can do matching “Mommy and Me” sets! Or get all versions as a bundle here.

This pattern is created with love and skill. No matter what climate you reside in, you can choose this pattern and the optional features, and create a jacket as heavy or lightweight for your needs. I learned at least 3 new techniques and was able to practice and advance my sewing capabilities with this jacket. I am excited to sew more!

It is so detailed and there are so many variations available to you. A denim jacket seems intimidating, but with the clear and detailed instructions and the design of the pattern, I think anyone could make one. I can’t wait to make another one!
